May ICS Blog Hop – It’s a Guy Thing in Black and White

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o

Howdy, folks!

I trust you are all doing well on this fine day! It’s cloudy here in Whitefish, but it’s a fine day anyway…why? Because I am alive, healthy and crafting! WooHoo! Can’t ask for more than that… 😉

Today we get to hop along with the talented ladies of the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop! Our theme this month is a Masculine card using Black and White ONLY. If you are coming from Tricia’s blog, thank you for hopping on to mine!

This was a tad tough! I love color! Masculine cards tend to be tough and then just black and white…well…it took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do.

I did it! And, I am happy with it! Here it is…

1588705520192.jpg

I am actually pretty happy with it! For the background, I stamped off on scratch paper 2 times before stamping on the Whisper White cardstock so that it was much lighter than my smoker. I probably could have done it one more time, but I think it turned out alright. Totally sad that this stamp set, Outdoor Barbecue, is retiring though! I really thought it would make it into the New Annual Catalog that is coming in June. But, alas, it is not…so, if you really like this stamp set…you better go HERE NOW and get it and then come back and hop around!! 🙂

Now it is time to hop on over to see what Candy Ford created for her Male Black and White project!

GSF Blog Hop – Stitched

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Howdy Everybody!

Life definitely has it’s twists and turns, doesn’t it? I trust you are all doing well during this time of staying home and taking it one day at a time! My family and I have found a nice little routine and we are happy and healthy! I wish the same for you!

It’s the first Friday of the month and you know what that means? It’s time for the Global  Stamping Friends Blog Hop! I just LOVE hopping with these talented ladies from around the world! This month our theme is Stitched! Everybody loves the look of sewing in their projects without the sewing machine…although I could have pulled mine out for this project…this was simpler!

This card was actually a facebook live with my friend Darla Roberts. She gave us measurements a couple days before and then did the live and demonstrated how to put it together! I altered it a bit by adding stitched elements to work for this blog hop and really like how it turned out!

Here is my card:

1588281482164.jpg

My stitched elements are the rectangle that I embossed with the High Seas 3D embossing folder and the stitched shape around the sentiment which actually comes with the Smooth Sailing dies. The yellow one behind was cut in half and pulled apart to give the yellow on the sides. Needed the yellow to give the feel of sunshine coming out to brighten a day. The DSP on the back part is from the Come Sail Away pack and I had not seen it used anywhere, so I wanted to use it. I used the anchor dies and the anchor trinket because…well, it talks about an anchor. 🙂 I really like how it all came together!

And here is the inside…

1588281539824.jpg

The ‘love you’ is actually from the Well Said stamp set. I left just enough room to write a little something.

That’s it for me today! Scroll on down to comments and let me know what you think of the card! Also, on your way there, take a look at the Give Back pdf for Covid relief, the Last Chance products…and the Clearance Rack has been refreshed, too!

Now it is time to click on the next button to hop on over to Angélique Stempelkeuken and see was masterful stitched creation she came up with for you! Enjoy!

GSF – Trees and Wood

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Howdy!

It is that fun time again where I get to hop with the lovely ladies of the Global Stamping Friends…Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world! Let’s get started!

This month our theme was Trees and Wood. I was sad to discover that all my wood and trees stamp sets had retired and I forgot to order the new one that I have been drooling over. (I just ordered it, so you’ll see a post on it soon! 😉 ) Therefore, I turned to one of my favorite, although confusing, embossing folders…Woodland. The trees seem to be able to go either way and I get so confused at times. Yes, it is still one of my favorites! It worked, I’m going with it. 😉

Here it is…

1564770977196.jpg

I stamped my scene right onto the embossing folder and then ran it through my Big Shot. I just love this technique and have been wanting to try out this lighthouse scene for some time. Today was the perfect day for it!

I trust you like it…let me know with comments below. It’s always nice to hear from others.

Now on to Tricia Butts’ blog to see what wonderful creation she has for you!

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey! July PPP Blog Hop – On My Mind

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy!

It’s time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop with our July kits…On My Mind! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and this blog hop is to share our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. I love hopping with these amazingly creative ladies! So, let’s get started…

I went camping and took my box along with me. The only “extras” I brought were different sized blocks, the larger ink pad, and some scissors. Everything else was in the box! Therefore, my alternates had to be made with what was in the box!

Here are the original PP designed cards…1564356000023.jpg

And here are 2 of my alternates…I do like to do things wonky sometimes. 🙂

1564356048480.jpg

1564356024483.jpg

I have 2 others that are not quite finished that I will post later. Due to so many family members visiting right now, my Creation Studio is currently being used as a guest room. When I get them finished, I’ll post those as well.

For now, that’s it…time for me to get back to the family fun! Please click the Next button and hop on over to Terry Takashige to see what fun she had with her July kit!

Balloons for You!

Howdy!

My Boyz (husband and son) are playing on the computers with long distance friends, so I am playing in my Creation Studio! Fun kind of evening for us! I sorta miss them though…we used to do this all in the same room until we changed the Guest Room into the Computer Cave so that I had a whole room for classes. I love the room to myself most of the time and especially for holding classes…but then on evenings like this, I miss hearing their funny conversations and laughter. I could probably have the door open and hear them, but since I am listening to KLove, I figured I would leave it closed. It’s a Catch-22.

I found some fun Challenges to get my creative juices flowing…

For my colors I found a fun combo here:

And for my theme, I went to:

Probably coulda found a sketch and made it a triple…but, that might be going too far. LOL

I’m satisfied with the card I came up with. I had a particular person in mind for this one. I missed sending him a birthday card and a Father’s Day card…ugh, pathetic, I know! So, this one will be in tomorrow’s mail to my One and Only, Best Daddy! (Mom, if you are reading this, don’t tell him!)

The supplies I used on this card will be listed at the end of the post. Here is the card

1561695675873.jpg

And here is the inside…think he will forgive me?

1561695797448.jpg

That’s it for tonight! Have some Blog Hops coming up next week, so time to switch gears and get focused on them…see you again soon!

Supplies Used (click on what you like and it will take you straight to my online store)
  • Smoky Slate: cardstock for card base and front sentiment punch; ink for Crackle Paint stamp on base and Love on heart balloon

  • Black Bakers twine (retired, sorry, white just was not going to do it for me)
  • Stamp Sets and coordinating dies are Well Said, Meant To BeCrackle Paint
  • Punches are Balloon Bouquet, Tailored Tag, and Banner Triple for the inside banner
  • White Chalk Stampin’ Marker for the little balloon marks (not sure what they are called, but it helps make the balloons look curved/3D)

GSF – The Neutrals

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Howdy!

It’s the first Friday of the month, so that means the amazing Demos of the Global Stamping Friends are having another hop! This month we are showcasing The Neutrals.

What are the Neutrals you ask? The Neutrals are, in order of appearance, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Gray Granite, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, and Soft Suede.

neutrals assorted ink pads

These are some very useful colors and most can be used in combination with any of the other color families that Stampin’ Up! has to offer!

The stamp set I used is Geared Up Garage. Yes! I really do love this stamp set and framelits…A LOT! If you have any doubts, or need other ideas on how to use it, you can check out the other posts here, here, here, and here! 😉 It’s just a perfect set for the guys in my life!

Here is my newest card creation:

1554017473958.jpg

Then on the inside, it looks like this. The top flap of the card was trimmed off a bit so that the smudge and navy line were part of the inside, too.

The materials used for this card are:

Feel free to shop in my store to get your hands on this amazing stamp set and framelit dies HERE or by clicking on the blue words in the list above! Don’t forget the DSP while you are at it! I sure trust this set makes it into the new Annual Catalog! We will find out soon! I’m not ready to stop using it! 😉

That is all I have for you today. I trust you enjoyed another creation from one of my all time favorite Occasions Catalog stamp sets! Now let’s hop on over to Tricia Butts blog and see what she created with The Neutrals!

Happy Tails are Meant to Be!

Howdy!

How are you all today?! I am on my first day of Spring Break and happy for it! What better way to start it than telling you about this cute card I came up with to enter into the Sketch Saturday Challenge? I have fun with sketches and this one turned out cute!

Here is the sketch:

I figured I would change it up a bit and instead of going with circles, I went with a heart and puppy dog! Here is mine:

1553208383820.jpg

And, since I am into different ways of folding cards lately…I went with a new fun one that I learned…it’s a double door kind of fold. First card I made I had the heart straight up, half on one side, half on the other. Then at my card class this week, Crystal said she was going wonky and I really liked that idea…so I went with a wonky heart too! I like this one better!

Materials used for this card are:

Here are 2 pictures of how it looks when you open it:

I left the inside blank so that I can write whatever to the person who gets the card. I may choose to put Very Vanilla cardstock inside to make writing easier because the inside is textured as well. Oh…when you use the paw and bone to stamp all over the front…stamp before you emboss…it’s easier! Just saying because I forgot to do it that way. 😉

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

Last “Geared Up for 50” card

Howdy!

Finally, here is the last 50th birthday card I made from the Geared Up Garage Bundle and the Classic Garage DSP! Such a fun set! I really love this set and plan on making more cards and scrapbook pages with this set! Ok, not for awhile. I need to play with some of the other stuff I have gotten from the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure!! Speaking of which, can you believe we are in our last month of Sale-A-Bration?! Oh, no! If you haven’t gotten all the things you want, you better get on it! Click here to place your order and get FREE stuff while you can. It all ends March 31st! Occasion catalog goes until June 3rd, so you have a bit of time for that…although it makes sense to order what you want from the Occasions Catalog and get the FREE items from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. And, have you seen all the Sale-A-Bration Coordination items? So fun! You can see one of them here. Alas, they are all selling quickly and some are sold out. So, again, DON’T WAIT!! SHOP NOW! And please remember to use the March Hostess Code (4X6BB23E) if you are under $150.

On to the card!

1551153300857.jpg

And here is what it looks like opened…

Pretty cool, don’t you think? I was pleased with all three. The only thing I think I would do different would be to distress the balloons to give them depth. If you missed the Pop Up Box for my Hubster, you can see that here. And the spin fold card you can see here.

The colors I used were all the same: Crushed Curry, Real Red, and Basic Gray. For this car, I changed it up a bit and used the framelit to cut out one of the sports cars from the DSP. For my hubby I had embossed it in white and then used the framelit. This one has more of a chalkboard feel to it. The Happy was cut from the Happy Birthday thinlit. The Birthday was too big for the card. I am sure I will use it elsewhere. I don’t like to waste anything, so I keep all that kind of stuff. Just need to get it more organized so I can find it when I am looking for it!

That is all I have for you today. Tomorrow I get to go scrapbook with some ladies whose group I just got invited to! I am beyond excited and happy to find a crafty group in my new town! It’s taken me 2 years, but I am rolling now meeting crafty folks and making new crafty friends! WooHoo! I’ll take pictures of my pages and share them here next week! Enjoy your weekend! I know I will!
Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

ICS Blog Hop One Last Sale-A-Bration

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o

Howdy!

It’s the first Wednesday of the month…you know what that means! We are back with another ICS Blog Hop! I love these monthly hops because it keeps me creating and I enjoy seeing what others have created! This month we are celebrating the last of the Sale-A-Bration time! Last month to get your FREE products with an order of $50 or more! I am going to showcase another card made from my favorite Stamp and Framelit Bundle…yep, Geared Up Garage it is! If you missed the first 2, you can check them out here and here.

My husband turned 50 and one of his friends did in November, and another turns 50 this week. They are getting together this weekend and my hubster is taking the cards to them. They are all long time friends, so I made special cards for each of them…all different, yet all with the same set since they are all in to cars in one way or another!

Here is the card for Shawn, who turned 50 in November.

1551153504244.jpg

And, yes, it is another cool kinetic folding card that I learned from Jan B! She rocks! I can’t remember what she called this, but the circle in the middle swings when you open and close the card. Stampin’ Up! used to have a framelit that created these cards (which I still own) but it was a smaller circle. I made bunches of cards with it back when I lived in Tucson, before I started this blog! Now I know how to make it by hand and can use any shape in the middle! This is going to be fun! I plan on making a lot more of all these fun folding cards that I have been posting lately! I need to get proficient at them for teaching in my classes! And, yes, of course, I will share them with all of you!

Here are some of the other sides of the card, so you can see it from all angles. Plus the envelope I made for his card too!

Besides the Classic Garage DSP, Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears thinlit bundle, I also used Basic Gray cardstock, the Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, and the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Oh, and in my other posts, I forgot to mention the retired number dies that I used to cut out the 50. Not sure why they got rid of those, I like to use them for important birthdays and anniversaries!

That is all I have for you today…be on the look out for that last card using the Geared Up Garage. Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

If you have been thinking about signing up for the awesome Paper Pumpkin monthly kit, NOW is the time! Next month is Paper Pumpkin’s Birthday and they always do something extra special for their birthday! This year it is a second stamp set in each kit! I love that it’s a surprise as to what theme I get in my box each month, and yet it is nice to have little hints like they did last month. This time they are telling us this to get us excited:

  • The March kit features eight full-sized, mailable cards
  • Coordinating colors are Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Poppy Parade
  • This kit has an element that is sure to “pop”!
  • The FREE stamp set is even bigger and better than your typical Paper Pumpkin stamp set and can be used on a variety of crafting projects.

I’m thinking the “pop” may mean a pop up card. What do you think? I’m excited, are you?!?!

Happy 50th Birthday, Hubster!

Howdy!

Last month was my Hubster’s 50th birthday so I wanted to make a very special card for him. I had seen the cards that look like stuff popping out of the box, so I researched and found a tutorial…and now I want to show it off.

It’s called a Pop-Up Box Card and here it is…

Geared Up Garage Pop-up Box Card

I used the Geared Up Garage Bundle and Classic Garage 6×6 DSP to make it along with a 12×12 sheet of Basic Gray cardstock.

Geared Up Garage Cling BundleClassic Garage 6 X 6 (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper

This is definitely my favorite stamp set and framelit bundle in the Occasions catalog! This card was a challenge, mainly because I could only find 1 (very confusing!) tutorial video that used inches instead of cm. My scoring board doesn’t have centimeters, so I had no choice but to use the video. It took me so long because I had to stop and start it repeatedly. My first tutorial, when I get my video set up in place, will be this kind of card! I will make it simple and easy for you!

Here are some other pictures of the process:

After making the card, I had to make a special envelope to go with it! I found some retired 12×12 envelope paper and made my large envelope using the Envelope Punch Board. I love this thing! I make all my envelopes with it! Then I decorated the outside with some stamps from this set and a retired alphabet that I use mostly in my scrapbooking because of it’s size.

Besides the DSP and Basic Gray cardstock, I added some Real Red cardstock for the 50 and I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch for the balloons I cut out of the DSP. I also used white embossing powder on the black cardstock sports car. Hubster really liked how that turned out when I had made it for my first Geared Up Garage car (you can see it here), but then didn’t use it knowing I would want to use it on his card.

That’s all I have for now. I think I will call it good and move on to posting the other cards I made using this wonderful bundle! Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June
