PPP Blog Hop – World’s Greatest

Howdy!

It is that time of the month when we explore the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities for our kits by hopping along with these talented demonstrators to see what alternates they have created!

If you are coming from Cheryl Hamilton’s blog, then Thank You for continuing to hop with us!

This month’s kit was titled World’s Greatest and as always, I made one of each of the kit’s designs.

When I first opened the kit, the stamp set was upside down and so the ribbon looked like a milk jug to me. Then I realized it was the ribbon for the medal. And it still looked like a milk jug…so I made it a milk jug! 🙂

I really love how it turned out!! How about you?

I used one of the white cards and sponged it with the Mint Macaron and Bumblebee to tie it into the negative that I used as my frame. I also sponged the frame more to make the colors softer. I used the edges of the dimensionals to adhere the frame to the card. I used the Sprig punch to punch out some of the gold paper and then I sponged the vellum leaves and berries with Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss. I stamped the jug in Soft Suede and fussy cut it out. I used dimensionals for the jug and glue dots for the leaves and branches and for the linen bow on the front of the milk jug.

That’s it for me today! Short and sweet! Now it is time for you to hop on over to my friend Darla Roberts’ blog and see what fantastic alternate she came up with!

Paper Pumpkin Summer Nights

Howdy!

I’m having a super productive Saturday, so I thought I should just keep on going and get you another post of more of the cards I made with this month’s kit! It has really stirred up the creative juices in me this week!

Just in case you didn’t see the last post with my alternates and the original designs from the kit you can go check them out HERE! I shared what the kit was designed to make and I shared 3 of my alternates using embossing powders.

Now I am going share alternates I made using extras in the kit as well as using the bag as a card front. Fun, stuff…keep reading!

1595974932233

This first card I used one of the post cards as a back drop over a Whisper White cardstock base, and then I cut the front off the bag and ran it through the die cutting machine using the Stitched Rectangles to give it that finished edge. I stamped the fireworks stamp in Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, and then I used Blackberry Bliss and stamped it 2 times without re-inking it to give it a lighter shade. That is called ‘stamping off.’ I use that technique quite frequently! I also added some of the stars and used one of the sentiments on the label and then sponged the label with the Calypso Coral so that it wasn’t so white. I’m just not a fan of too much white! I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and used dimensionals.

1595974899832

In this next card I did something similar except that I stamped the sentiment right onto the white bag and used a smaller Stitched Rectangle die. I also stamped one of the lightening bugs in the corner and used dimensionals under the other 2 bugs. I put this all on a Blackberry Bliss cardstock base.

1595975016615

This 3rd card, I used a Blackberry Bliss card base and stamped the fireworks using tone on tone Calypso Coral ink and cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and used a ferris wheel cutout and used 3 stars from the kit. Simple and easy!

I don’t know if you have noticed that the 3 stars and 3 bugs on the cards create a triangle to draw your eye into the focal image or sentiment of the cards. It’s a little trick that many card makers use. Something you may want to keep in mind when making your own cards.

This last card is my favorite, I think…hard to say as I’m not sure I am done with this kit and making more alternates. hahaha!

1595975072968

First I took some Whisper White cardstock and my sponges out and sponged a sort of sunset. I went light with it, not wanting it to over power what was going on top. I used Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral (that really is an awesome color combo!).

1595977222521

Then I stamped the fireworks and star burst all over the card in a variety of the colors. I adhered some of the paper stars and lightening bugs onto the cardstock and put the vellum ‘glass’ jar over them. I used dimensionals under the sentiment that I stamped in Blackberry Bliss. Easy-peasy and fun!

That’s all I have for now…time for bed! We’ll see what Sunday Funday brings! No working for me tomorrow…just playing in my studio!

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your own Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey! PPP Blog Hop – Summer Nights

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_oHowdy Everybody!

I trust everyone is doing great and enjoying their summer! It is the end of July, so that means it is time for our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! Wahoo! If you are coming from Terri Takashige’s blog, thank you for hopping along!

We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use July’s kit Summer Nights…let’s get started!

I opened my box the other day and then set it aside while I went through a Mohs procedure on my face and arm. Today, I got down to business and now I can’t stop! There are a few more posts coming for this week with all the cards I created!

Here are the original creations for this fun box:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I found that I used the front of one of the bags more for a stencil than anything else! I wasn’t much into using the bag as bags, but we will see in the future, I still have 4 left.

I picked 3 of my alternate creations for this blog hop on which I used embossing powder to really boost these cards up a notch! I like how they turned out. What do you think?

1595973718828

For this one I used silver embossing powder for the fireworks after I used Versa Mark over the stencil from the bag front and on the stamp.

On this next card, I sponged the background using the color palate from the kit of Blackberry Bliss, Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral (an amazing combination) and created more night time backgrounds in a sunset-ish fashion…

1595974979051

I also used the back of the bag and cut out an oval using the layering oval dies and then stamped on it and embossed with clear embossing powder over the Coastal Cabana ink. I used silver and white embossing powder for the stenciled fireworks on the background.

1595974048183

Then I used a lighter technique of sponging for the background on this next card and focused instead on making the fireworks darker. I also used black embossing powder on the sentiment to really make it stand out!

1595974869175

1595974825490

Putting vellum down is always tricky if you don’t have enough places to hide it, but I think it worked out well.

That’s it for today, check back this week for the rest of the cards I made today! And, who knows…could be many more…the ideas keep coming each time I make a card!

Time to hop on over to Cheryl Hamilton on Maui and see what she has created for you this month! Keep hopping along for great ideas and inspiration and I will see you next time!53636731_10219309231506307_35901588677591040_o

June PPP Blog Hop – Box of Sunshine

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy, Everyone!

It’s Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop time! WooHoo! I love my Paper Pumpkin! And this month we are showing you all kinds of ways to make alternates from the kit Box of Sunshine!

I kept it super simple this month since I am still unpacking! I know, I should be done, but sadly, there is always more than just my Creation Studio to work on! Plus, I am still doing my Online ESL teaching each morning!

Instead of doing a big box of sunshine to give away, I chose to use the Gold Mini Pizza Box and just give a few little treats inside, or a giant brownie! These pizza boxes are always fun since they are food safe. We have the same mail lady as before and she delivered my Paper Pumpkin to me before I even remembered to do my address change! So, I trust she is up for a brownie this week as a Thank you in this fun box!

1593555148231.jpg

I’ll make one of the cards as a Thank you card to let her know I appreciate that she did not send my Paper Pumpkin back like the last time I moved from Colorado!

That is it for me today. Short and sweet and back to setting up my new Stamp counter! Pictures will be forthcoming when I get the room done!

Now you get to hop on to Candy Ford’s website and see what fun thing she came up with! Enjoy the Hop!

PPP Blog Hop – A Kit In Color

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy, Everyone!

It’s time for our monthly Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! WooHoo! If you are just starting with me, or hopping from Dana Sullivan, thank you for joining us! I love seeing what cool alternates these amazing crafters come up with! I have been known to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) their ideas because they are so inspirational!

Let’s get started! This month was the first time Paper Pumpkin SOLD OUT before the end of the sales period. This is a HOT kit! It introduces us to the new In Colors for the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog that is coming out in a week! This kit uses the new 2020-2022 In Colors. Here is a picture of the cards it makes. I couldn’t find a better picture, so I just used this one. I usually make one of each, but I have been packing to move, and did not get the cards made. I moved Saturday.

As demonstrators, we get to pre-order items from the new catalogs before they go live, but this time the In Color inks were not part of that…so I am saying good bye to the out-going In Color inks of 2018-2020. They are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel…all bright and yummy colors! You have until June 2nd to get your hands on them and their accessories HERE.

I only used the stamp set and one skeleton page from the kit to show off how versatile it is…this was fun!

1590181097765.jpg

Many will use that U as part of the rainbow, but with all the texting people do, this is what popped into my mind. Psst, I do not text like that because I am a teacher and it drives me bonkers, but it is what came to my mind first thing when I opened my kit. It needs a comma too, but I’m ignoring that. Hahaha!

I sponged the center with the Pineapple Punch and then worked my way out to the edge with the Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, then the Blueberry Bushel. I was going for a sunset-ish look since it’s a “Goodbye to the In Colors” card and a Retirement card for a friend. (Sure trust she gets it before she reads this!) I sponged the green around the bottom edges of the base. I have made this card with the cut angle going down, but decided to flip it to help show off the cool clouds. I tapped out all the clouds and tag from the kit and used the outline/skeleton page to sponge the clouds in Blueberry Bushel. Then sponged some of the sunset colors around the clouds. I stamped the “Hey’ and ‘amazing’ in Call Me Clover after cutting the “you’re” off. Yes, I did that. You can blame Jessica Cruz de Urrutia and Connie Stewart…I learned it from them. 😉 The U and R are stamped in Lovely Lipstick. The R is from Make a Difference alphabet stamp set. Lastly, I added a few rhinestones to give it a little extra bling. The layer is popped up with dimensionals to give it, well, dimension.

That’s it for me today. Supply list is below. Let me know what you think of it in the comments! Always nice to hear from others!

Now it’s time to hop on over to my friend, the lovely Flying Stamper, Deb Naylor. Enjoy the rest of the hop! See you next time!

PPP Blog Hop – No Matter the Weather

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy!

It’s time for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! I love hopping with these gals and have missed the last 2 because of subbing and not staying on top of deadlines for hopping. But, I’m back and raring to go!

AND…

This is it! It’s the last night of Sale-A-Bration! If you were wanting something…better go order before midnight MDT! 3 Prepaid months of Paper Pumpkin get you a free item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure! Check it out at juneolsen.stampinup.net

This month’s is called No Matter the Weather and the sentiments are so perfect for helping to calm everyone regarding what is happening on our planet right now. This is an amazing kit! Every time I think they can’t top a month…they do!

Here are the cards the way they were designed…ok, with minor changes not worth mentioning:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I love the cards as they are so much, that I was really struggling with coming up with an alternate! And, as always, for my Paper Pumpkin Club I use only the extras and the stamps. They aren’t so sure they want to cut any cards…so I keep it simple and add some cardstock for a base and only what’s in the box and attempt to use ink colors that I know they will have from previous kits. Some of my members only do Paper Pumpkin.

I was looking through Paper Pumpkin Fan Club and the SU Demonstrator facebook pages to see if I could get inspired…there were some, but still nothing came to mind of my own creation. Then I had a youtube notice on my tablet from a Lisa Curcio as something I might like…and I did! She was teaching how to braid a card and I thought that sounded interesting. I watched, I printed out her template, and away I went! She made it so easy and it looks so cool! Love new techniques!

Here is my creation…

Oh, and I used another favorite technique…masking. I masked the galoshes so that I could put the grass around them.

While working on this today, we have had grawple, snow, rain, and an earthquake…yep…No Matter the Weather… 🙂

That is it for me tonight! Enjoy your evening as you hop on through with Terri Takashige

PPP Blog Hop – Something for Everything

Howdy Everyone!

Welcome to the delayed December Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop where we share our alternates for the the latest kit. We delayed it due to all the holidays. We are showcasing the December Paper Pumpkin kit and the alternates we created early this month and then will showcase the January one at the end of the month. I love the inspiration that I get from these talented ladies! Join us for a fun hop with tons of ideas to turn your Paper Pumpkin kit into more than you thought possible!

I was excited to get my December kit…Something for Everything with 13 sentiments! That is amazing! All sorts of possibilities! I started off by creating the original cards designed for the kit. I typically make 1 of each to show at my Paper Pumpkin “Taste Testing” workshop where participants can come and make 3 cards and see if they like Paper Pumpkin. It’s a fun time!

I always make 1 of each of the designed cards. Here they are…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This was an awesome kit that needed very little extras added. All I did was add some extra cardstock in Shaded Spruce, Grapefruit Grove, Old Olive, and Terracotta Tile for card bases and backdrops.

I made 6 alternates and they will be featured this week in 2 posts. Here 3 of them and the first is my favorite alternate. It will be the alternate that my Paper Pumpkin Clubbers make. It’s my first easel style card. I needed to use only the extras from the kit and the ‘skeletons’ because I have a number of Clubbers that make all the cards as is before we see each other to make alternates. That is how excited they are for getting their kits!

1578349580163.jpg

Besides adding the cardstock I also used the leaf punch to punch out a gold leaf that I cut to place 1 leaf below and 2 above. I also used the dog punch to cut the gold hearts out of the rest of the sticker page. Gotta love the ‘leftovers’ we can do so much with!!

And these are 2 other cards that I came up with…

I did end up punching out some leaves and sprigs from the back of the card that I stole the front from. Those 2 punches come in very handy quite often!!

Now on to Terri Takashige’s Blog to see what fantastic alternate she came up with! Enjoy!

Paper Pumpkin + SU! = Great Alternate

Oh My Goodness! I was planning a few posts of my Christmas card classes and getting next month’s Blog Hops set up when I found a drafted post…can you believe it? Well, you probably can! 🙂 This is from October and I didn’t even realize that I didn’t finish it and post it! Shame on me…not the first time, as you know, so probably not the last time either! LOL

Although it isn’t Christmas themed, as most things are right now…I’m letting you have it anyway because I love anything Paper Pumpkin…Enjoy! And Have a Very Merry Christmas!!, just in case I don’t get to post before then! 😉

Howdy!

Are you an Out-of-the Box kind of crafter? Do you like mixing and matching your crafting supplies? I’m learning to! And I did just that with this card! I mixed up 2 Paper Pumpkin kits, plus the Sailing Home Bundle items…let’s check out what I did! A card on page 144 of the Annual Catalog inspired me. Can you figure out which one? Comment below if you know!

First, I took the sand dollar, starfish, and the vellum coral (which I inked with Terracotta Tile) from the June PP kit called A Little Smile. Then I used the shell stamp, sentiment, label, sequins, and linen thread from the July PP kit called On My Mind. To those items I added the anchor stamp and and it’s matching die using Smokey Slate cardstock, as well as the sea weed from the Sailing Home Bundle in Mint Macaron and Old Olive. I also included the a sprig punch element in Pear Pizzazz. I have never mixed so many sets in my life! LOL

I used the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set and the stitched label die that comes in the bundle and created that on Whisper White cardstock. I also ran the Pretty Peacock cardstock through the Big Shot in the High Seas 3D embossing folder. I used linen thread for the anchor, but would have used the braided linen trim if I had it! I think it would have been a better look. Then I put it all together and viola!

What do you think? I think I am in love! A great card for anyone, yet if you struggle with masculine cards, this one is perfect!

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your own Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey!
