ICS Blog Hop One Last Sale-A-Bration

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o

Howdy!

It’s the first Wednesday of the month…you know what that means! We are back with another ICS Blog Hop! I love these monthly hops because it keeps me creating and I enjoy seeing what others have created! This month we are celebrating the last of the Sale-A-Bration time! Last month to get your FREE products with an order of $50 or more! I am going to showcase another card made from my favorite Stamp and Framelit Bundle…yep, Geared Up Garage it is! If you missed the first 2, you can check them out here and here.

My husband turned 50 and one of his friends did in November, and another turns 50 this week. They are getting together this weekend and my hubster is taking the cards to them. They are all long time friends, so I made special cards for each of them…all different, yet all with the same set since they are all in to cars in one way or another!

Here is the card for Shawn, who turned 50 in November.

1551153504244.jpg

And, yes, it is another cool kinetic folding card that I learned from Jan B! She rocks! I can’t remember what she called this, but the circle in the middle swings when you open and close the card. Stampin’ Up! used to have a framelit that created these cards (which I still own) but it was a smaller circle. I made bunches of cards with it back when I lived in Tucson, before I started this blog! Now I know how to make it by hand and can use any shape in the middle! This is going to be fun! I plan on making a lot more of all these fun folding cards that I have been posting lately! I need to get proficient at them for teaching in my classes! And, yes, of course, I will share them with all of you!

Here are some of the other sides of the card, so you can see it from all angles. Plus the envelope I made for his card too!

Besides the Classic Garage DSP, Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears thinlit bundle, I also used Basic Gray cardstock, the Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, and the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Oh, and in my other posts, I forgot to mention the retired number dies that I used to cut out the 50. Not sure why they got rid of those, I like to use them for important birthdays and anniversaries!

That is all I have for you today…be on the look out for that last card using the Geared Up Garage. Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

If you have been thinking about signing up for the awesome Paper Pumpkin monthly kit, NOW is the time! Next month is Paper Pumpkin’s Birthday and they always do something extra special for their birthday! This year it is a second stamp set in each kit! I love that it’s a surprise as to what theme I get in my box each month, and yet it is nice to have little hints like they did last month. This time they are telling us this to get us excited:

  • The March kit features eight full-sized, mailable cards
  • Coordinating colors are Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Poppy Parade
  • This kit has an element that is sure to “pop”!
  • The FREE stamp set is even bigger and better than your typical Paper Pumpkin stamp set and can be used on a variety of crafting projects.

I’m thinking the “pop” may mean a pop up card. What do you think? I’m excited, are you?!?!

Paper Pumpkin Pop-Up Blog Hop – Grown with Kindness

28701642_10216314905810036_5229522907894174650_oHowdy!

It is time for another Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop…we love doing them so much that we have become a monthly hop instead of the occasional hop! Yay! I like the idea of doing this monthly! It will help me create an alternative project for my newly started Paper Pumpkin Club!

Let’s get to it! This month is a wonderful kit with gorgeous pictures of succulents. This AZ girl has always liked succulents and the variety of colors and textures they show off! So this kit was a treat!

Here are the cards from the kit as they were designed…which were really lovely and hard to think of a way to change/alter them!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Then, before I came up with an alternative, I got a bit stamp happy and went all out on the inside of the cards and then matched the envelopes like this…

So, now it is time to reveal my alternative project for this February kit. Thanks to Jan B. from the UK, I have gone a tad crazy for new kinds of folded cards! She is great at explaining and easy to follow! This one is called a Dutch Fold Card and you can see her in action here. I have now made 3 of her cards and plan to make many more!! I still need to post the others and will do that this week!

First photo is what it looks like closed-ish without laying it down flat.

1551153879565.jpg

This is the inside…

1551153919280.jpg

This is how it stands to be better able to view it and leave it for others to see.

1551153852123.jpg

The only additions to this card that didn’t come in the kit are some Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig cardstock. Everything else came from the kit! Isn’t it such a neat idea for a standing card? I’ll be making more of these Dutch Fold cards for sure because I like how it takes the card to the next level!

If you have been thinking about signing up for this awesome monthly kit, NOW is the time! Next month is Paper Pumpkin’s Birthday and they always do something extra special for their birthday! This year it is a second stamp set in each kit! I love that it’s a surprise as to what I get in my box each month, and yet it is nice to have little hints like they did last month.

ICS Blog Hop Theme: It’s A Love Thing

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o
Howdy!
Boy, time flies when you are having fun, doesn’t it?! Sometimes that is a good thing, but most of the time we just want it to last! Today is the 1st Wednesday of the month! You know what that means? ICS Blog Hop time! WooHoo! I love hopping with these lovely ladies and seeing the inspirational projects they come up with!
This month our theme is It’s a Love Thing…hmmm, I wonder if it’s because Valentine’s Day is this month? Of course, it is! However, it didn’t have to be that kind of card. Could have been a wedding card, an anniversary card, etc…anything to do with Love! I was planning on an anniversary or wedding card…then The Hubster had to leave and “move” to another town 5 hours away to work. Since he will be gone not only for his 50th birthday, but will also miss Valentine’s Day with us, I am making special ‘over the top/out of my norm’ cards for him. You’ll have to check back for the birthday one…this one had to come first, even though his Bday is 2 days before Vday.
The stamp set I used is called Meant To Be with matching framelits which you have seen me use before. I also used Part of My Story, which is a FREE item in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I just can’t get enough of these!!

Meant To Be Cling Bundle

Part Of My Story Cling Stamp Set

I have seen the Pop and Twist card before from MayMay and then received a similar one for Christmas from a friend. so it was high time I made one and who better than for The Hubster, whom I love very much!
Since his favorite colors are maroon and silver, I pulled out the Smoky Slate and Merry Merlot inks and cardstock as my 2 main colors. Then I went through all the pinks in the collections and settled on Lovely Lipstick as my 3rd color because I also happened to have the foil paper (pictured with the Grapefruit Grove foil sheets) that goes with it! It’s also a FREE product when you buy $50 or more during Sale-A-Bration. I had to use it!! I also used Whisper White as my neutral color.

Here is my card…doesn’t it look awesome!?

Ok, so he surprised us and came home and I had to scramble to get it finished for this bloghop without him seeing it! Argh! So, I now notice a few things that I would change or take time lining up. Not the hearts as they were meant to be off kilter, because I like them that way! I plan on making more of these kinds of cards and playing with the 2 different ways of doing the mechanism. You’ll see more here…
For now, thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

GSF – Stamper’s Choice

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Howdy!

Can you believe it is already the 2nd month of the new year?! Wowza! It’s also that time again…the first Friday of the month and a Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! WooHoo!! It is so fun to hop with these amazing demonstrators from around the globe! They are so inspirational!

This month the theme is Stamper’s Choice…so I chose to go with 2 #simplestamping cards! It seemed like the smartest choice since my craftroom is still a bit of a mess from the mini makeover. Stay tuned for more pictures on that this weekend!

I chose a stamp set from the Occasions Catalog called Meant To Be. I LOVE it! So versatile…we just have to love the versatility that Stampin’ Up! brings to their stamp sets!

Meant To Be Cling Stamp Set

I used Melon Mambo on Whisper White cardstock. Since Stampin’ Up! is promoting #simplestamping using paper, ink, and stamps, I wanted to give it a whirl. I am not used to being that simple in my card making, yet it was fresh, fun, and easy to do! I thought this card turned out great! Talk about simple…as in easy! I also used a favorite technique of mine called Stamping Off. You ink the stamp once and then stamp 2 or 3 times. Each time the ink gets lighter and looks like a different color, but it is just lighter shades of the original color…in this case, Melon Mambo (a favorite pink of mine!)

1548864563252.jpg

The next card I made was also a #simplestamping card. I used one of my FREE stamp sets from the Sale-A-Bration brochure called Hello Cupcake

Hello Cupcake Photopolymer Stamp Set

This was a fun card to make as well. And, yes, I used the Stamping Off technique here too! I used Whisper White as my card base again and changed the color to Rich Razzleberry for the cupcake paper which I stamped at full strength and the icing was stamped off on scratch paper and then on this card to give it a lighter and fluffier look. Crumb Cake was used for the actual cupcake that shows up between the paper and the icing after stamping off on scratch paper, and then the sentiment was Crumb Cake at full strength.

Easy-peasy card! Yummy looking, too, don’t you think?

1548864513917.jpg

I think a future post should show you how I might take these cards to the next level. I love watching Connie Stewart’s Now, Wow, or Holy Cow card videos. She is one of the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s that I follow on You Tube. She is very inspirational! I have all kinds of ideas running around in my head after watching her videos.

That’s all I have for you today! Back to reorganizing the craftroom. There will be a new post on that this weekend! Now on to see what Tricia chose for sharing with you! Just click the Next picture.16142532_1545314942146166_6627757169686037005_n

Extraordinary Hop – SU! Sale-A-Bration Style

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Hello, Hello!

It’s that time again…a Blog Hop with Global Stamping Friends! WooHoo! These ladies are quite talented, live all over the world, and I really enjoy hopping with them! So, let’s get this party started!

Since it is Sale-A-Bration, Stampin’ Up!’s most special time of year…I chose a stamp set from the new Occasions Catalog called Meant To Be. Yes, it is a Valentine’s Day stamp set, however, it can also just be a stamp set of LOVE! We all love the versatility of stamp sets!

Meant To Be Cling Stamp Set

And then there is the framelit set that goes with it, as a Bundle, of course! I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE it! It’s called Be Mine Stitched Framelits! I am truly loving all the stitched framelits they are coming out with!!

Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies

Here is the card I made:

1547181499862.jpg

I used Powder Pink cardstock as my card base and Powder Pink ink to stamp the hearts all over the card in random ways…even falling off the card. I used most of the hearts in the set. Then I used my Big Shot and ran these 2 framelits through using Lovely Lipstick cardstock. The little heart at the end of the sentiment is also Lovely Lipstick cardstock from the cloud of hearts framelit that I used for another card you will see in the next post. I almost lined the hearts up perfectly, then asked the Hubster what he thought (he has a good eye for photos and colors) and he agreed that offsetting them and making them wonky looked better. That was the way I was leaning toward as well. Linear has it’s place, just not on this card. 🙂

The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and actually comes from the Part of My Story stamp set which is FREE with a $50 order in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. It has such great sentiments! You’ll see more of them on my future cards and scrapbook pages!

Part Of My Story Cling Stamp Set

That is all I have for now…come back later and you’ll see more of these stamp sets and framelits!

For now, please click on the next button to see the lovely project from Sarah, our fearless leader, and enjoy the rest of the hop!

ICS Blog Hop – SU! Sale-A-Bration Time

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o
Hello, Hello!
Happy New Year to you All!! Here’s wishing you much love, joy, peace, prosperity, health, and happiness…plus a good dose of adventure in 2019!
Today is another ICS Blog Hop and since Sale-A-Bration starts tomorrow, the timing is perfect! Take a look at all the goodies these talented ladies share on this hop and then have fun choosing what you have to have in your craft room!
For this hop I chose the Amazing Life stamp set. I am all about positivity in my life and this one is another good one and very versatile!

MVIMG_20181225_224112-1.jpg

I also used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits that are cool because they show the stitching on both sides of the cut. Brilliant! I bought the stamp set and framelits as a bundle (aren’t bundles the best?) and got the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack for FREE! Gotta love FREE! Favorite 4 letter word in our language!

MVIMG_20181225_224301-1.jpg
Had this card idea in my head and it came out pretty close…however I did it both ways color-wise, because I couldn’t decide which way I liked better and neither could the Hubster! 🙂 Tell me what you think!
I used Early Espresso, Grapefruit Grove, and Balmy Blue cardstock and Balmy Blue ink for the sentiment. I also ended up stamping the sentiment 2x because once was not dark enough. That is where photopolymer stamps are a blessing, for sure!!

I also stamped in the corners in the same color as the cardstock.

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

You can click on the next button to see what Joni Metras has created with her Sale-A-Bration items! Enjoy!
