Circle, circle, around we go!

Hello – Hello!

Time for another Blog Hop with my Global Stamping Friends! I love hopping with these talented demonstrators! This month’s theme is…can you guess from my title? Circles!! Let’s have some fun!

I saw this paper in my new All Is Bright DSP pack that I got last week and thought, “Oooh, elegant!” Plus, I have been drooling over the Beautiful Baubles stamp set and Detailed Baubles Thinlits ever since I saw it in the Holiday Catalog!! It is so gorgeous that I finally just had to order it! It just seemed so right to put the 2 together when they both came in the same box! WooHoo!

MVIMG_20181031_202401  Beautiful Baubles Photopolymer Bundle

At first I was going to use black and white to keep the feel of elegance, but after making a card using a white base…it just fell flat. I won’t bore you with that card…

My hubster actually encouraged me to use the Basic Black cardstock base and give it another whirl…and Oh My Gosh! I think it came out lovely!! And elegant!! Which is what I wanted in the first place!

Want to see it? Here it is:

I am pleased with how it turned out! You can even see the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush in the light that is on the “wreath” around the ornaments! That was a lucky picture! I also added the Wink of Stella to the Whisper White sentiment circle, but you can’t see it in this picture. The ribbon already had sparkle in it…probably why they named it Shimmer Ribbon! 😉

What do you think? Did I hit the “elegant” mark on the nose, or what!? It definitely turned out better than the first one or the Turkey I was considering making, but thought I needed ovals for the feathers instead of circles…who knows, maybe I will still make one. It is November after all! LOL If you want instructions on how to make this card, just leave a comment below and I will get them emailed to you. Thanks!

Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop!

28701642_10216314905810036_5229522907894174650_o
Hello!
Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop-Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of creative fun! This is my first time hopping with this group, however, I am sure it won’t be the last since I am a huge Paper Pumpkin fan!
The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your own creativity run wild.
On this hop, we will be sharing many alternate ideas with you on how to use the September kit called ‘Frights and Delights.’
I like to start out making at least 1 of each of the planned projects in a kit first. I just haven’t bought any candy yet, so I thought I would use one of Paper Pumpkin’s images. They look better with candy in them than empty. Aren’t they cute little packages?? I’ll be using them for secretaries and teachers at the schools I sub at and where my son goes.
Then, I see where my own creative juices flow…here is what happened this month…
1538596184912
I have made up my mind to do more scrapbooking and have therefore challenged myself to make at least 1 scrapbook page with the kit contents each month. For this, I need to add a 12 x 12 piece of card stock, which is in Rich Razzleberry today. Normally, I would use the included cards to back the photos, yet since this kit did not have cards, I did have to grab some other card stock as well. In this case, some Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, and Cajun Craze. Ideally, I would like to use as much from the kit as I can to show you that you can do it too. Also, this month, to have a change of pace for non Halloween folks, I added in a fall stamp set called Colorful Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Layers thinlits.
I used 2 of the cellophane bags and cut them on one side. Then I did a fan fold and adhered the sides together after tying them in the middle with the bakers twine from the kit. I made the bakers twine long enough so that I could tie it in a bow around the stems of the leaves.
MVIMG_20181003_144951 (1)
The leaves are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry. The leaf overlay is cut from Mango Melody. I used glue dots on the back of the leaves to stick them to the cellophane fan circle.
For the title, I embossed one of the flower thinlits onto the silver paper that was in the box. I just used a scrap of it. I thought they came out pretty cool. I was attempting to cut the flower and instead it did this. I liked it, so I didn’t run it through the Big Shot again. I also used the Stitched Framelits to make the ovals around the title. I use these A LOT! I absolutely love them! You can also see that I used Rich Razzelberry ink to stamp a bunch of leaves all over the back ground to give it some extra pizzazz and add to the falling leaves…
MVIMG_20181003_145948
After making the scrapbook page, I thought I should make a card using as much from the kit as I could. I needed to add cardstock for the base of the cards, yet, the rest is from the kit itself. These 2 cards came together pretty quick!
This first one, I used Gorgeous Grape cardstock and cut 1 inch off the bottom of the top part of the card. Then I used the spider web cellophane bag and cut it open to make a cover for the top of the card. I used the small and large spider on the same stamp block to stamp the bottom border. Then used the silver pumpkin to adhere behind the jack-o-lantern. I stamped the sentiment and tied some of the bakers twine around the fold to disguise it.
1538595870523
The only thing I don’t like about this card is that you can see the glue dots that I used to stick the bag to the front. Not sure what else I could have done.
The next card I like better…
1538595979986
I used a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and Whisper White cardstock. I used the Gorgeous Grape ink for the stamping after putting almost all the stamps onto 1 block to make a word and picture collage. I saw somebody on a facebook site do something similar for a scrapbook page background and was reminded that I had once done that for Christmas cards from Paper Pumpkin a few years ago. I love using that idea when you have lots of little stamps!
I used the same block of stamps to stamp the background with Versa Mark ink. Then I added the silver circle behind the ghosts eyes to give it that eerie look. I cut off part of the tag and edged it with the Gorgeous Grape like I did the whole card and the worded rectangle. Gotta love distressing! I tied some of the black and silver bakers twine around the fold and tied a bow. I used dimensionals for the back of the tag and the ghost. Simple and quick card.
There you have it. 3 fairly quick and easy alternates to a very fun paper Pumpkin kit. Did you have to go Halloween? No, you did not. Could you if you wanted to? Naturally! Paper Pumpkin is for anyone and any level of crafting that wants to get products you can’t buy anywhere else.

Global Stamping Friends Bloghop

Hello!

I love blog hops, don’t you?! I haven’t done any in awhile and now I have 2 back-to-back!

This one is with a group I have hopped with in the past. We are called Global Stamping Friends and this month the theme is Card Sets.

Since I am on a Paper Pumpkin kick right now, I chose to use Birthday cards from past Paper Pumpkin(PP) sets. This set is actually going to be a Give-Away for next week’s new Paper Pumpkin promotion. Keep reading to the end to find out more! I may even toss a few other items inside next week, maybe a few sheets of PP grid paper, that would be fun and useful…we shall see…

The “holder” for the card set is a Paper Pumpkin themed trash bin! I even have the blue tissue paper that your PP kit comes wrapped up in! There is also a PP pen inside so that you always have a pen to add a personal touch to the cards!

Here are the 5 different cards that are in the bin with envelopes. 2 are gift card holders or just little notes to add to a gift. 1 is a little 3″ x 3″ card to add to a gift. Then there are 2 full sized cards, one of which has a banner wrapped around it and comes off for the birthday person to be able to hang up. For this one, I had it say “Enjoy.” These were all fun and simple to make. That’s what is so awesome about Paper Pumpkin…it’s easy-peasy and simply delightful! For beginners or experienced folks and young or older alike.

When you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, you get a lovely red box in the mail each month…from it you can either make what comes in the box following the instructions, or you can make alternate items. It is all a matter of what you are comfortable with. Check back tomorrow to see some alternates from September’s PP kit!

Then stay tuned for next week’s give-away of this card set!

Now on to Angélique‘s blog to see what card set she created! Enjoy!

Bloghop 13 – SU! Colour Challenge

Hello! TGIF!

I have been working on my second Blog hop, ever. It’s a very fun thing to do! This one is from a facebook group I found called Global Stamping Friends. People from all over the world participate and I am honored to be one of them for this Colour Challenge! (Love the English spelling of Colour, so fun!)

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

So, let me tell you the details…

Here are the colors I needed to use. And they are perfect for the card I needed to make for my brother’s birthday coming up in September! A nice masculine assortment, if you want it to be. I did!

20728404_10155426184320479_6670990969876798032_n

So, I have my colors, now what? Well, since it is his 50th, I have to use the Large Number Framelits and Number of Years stamp set…just in case he doesn’t know how old he is turning, right?!? Hahaha!

And, since it is birthday, I have to pull out my new favorite stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous! I love the balloon stamps in this set! I also pulled out some Whisper White Baker’s Twine for the balloon strings.

I used the Smokey Slate as my card base, and ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling embossing folder! It really needed more back ground texture and that is a favorite of mine as well. I put it in sideways, so it isn’t really falling. Yes, I have a lot of favorites when it comes to Stampin’ Up! stuff! Can you tell?

I used Pool Party, not a favorite for a change. I am not a big user of Subtle colors, yet I like how it added some pop to this card. The Layering Ovals Framelits came in handy for the the background for the numbers. Night of Navy is a popular color for me to use and helps to show off the Pool Party.

I kept this card simple and to the point! My brother is not really into fancy crazy stuff unless it is food. He is a food photographer, and loves to eat and cook! If you are interested you can find his work at Shoot What You Eat. You’ll need a cloth to clean up your drool from seeing all the yumminess! LOL!

Anyway, back to his card, I got sidetracked and I am not even hungry!

I love the Balloon Bouquet punch and Large numbers framelits for birthdays from Stampin' Up!

I am pleased with how this turned out. I am also very excited to be part of this blog! Thank you to the Global Stamping Friends for including me in this blog hop! I look forward to more in the future!

Thank you for “hopping” by! Enjoy your journey!

Blessings, June
