Howdy!

It’s Inspire Create Share Blog Hop time! This month we are introducing the New In Colors for 2019-2021! They are so gorgeous! I found this color sample from Brian King (one of the demos I follow) to show you the colors. I love how he makes them look wet and I need to learn how to make my own!

Purple Posy is not available at this time in ink pads. A quality issue they are working to solve. So, I chose to use Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, and Seaside Spray for my project today. Do you want to hear a funny-ish story as to why? Yeah, so I was ordering the other 4 ink pads and apparently mixed up my numbers and got a Terracotta Tile re-inker instead of the ink pad. Durn-it! Thought about using it in my spritzer, but needed to keep it simple today due to time constraints! (subbing, baseball, new job)

I chose to use the Beauty Abounds stamp set and Butterfly Beauty dies since they were a happy carry over from the Occasions catalog to the new Annual catalog! Yippee!! I hadn’t used them yet! As I was beginning, my brain went blank. Not an idea came to me at all! I knew I wanted to use the big die full of butterflies, so I opened up the catalogs to see what Stampin’ Up! made with them and found a card to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) in the Occasions catalog on page 13. Never throw away your catalogs! They are full of inspiration and CASEable projects! I changed it up a bit, of course, yet fairly close.

1559776749032.jpg

I added the Scalloped Linen Ribbon under the Story Label punch.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the Healing Hugs stamp set (another happy carry over to the New Annual catalog!) and distressed the edges in the Rococo Rose. I used dimensionals under the label and adhesive under the ribbon to adhere it to the butterflies.

I like how it turned out. What do you think? Now it is time for you to hop on over to Debbi Green to see what amazing creation she has to share with you! Enjoy!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop Hugs from Shelli

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o
Howdy Folks!
Guess what time it is?! Blog Hop time with the fabulous ladies of the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities group! We are bringing you Paper Pumpkin Alternates for May’s kit called Hugs from Shelli. Shelli is the Founder of Stampin’ Up! and she helped design this month’s kit. I loved the original cards so much that my alternate uses ink colors, stamps, and some twine from the kit, but I did not alter any of the items from the kit.
I used this card for my Paper Pumpkin Club, which is where my subscribers and I get together once a month and make our kits and I share an alternate project and all the supplies for that project with them. They have asked that I only use the extras from the kit because they like to make the cards from the kit as is…so, that is what I do.
This month, I was inspired by the flowers and soft colors and this is what I came up with:

1559016208158.jpg

I started with a base of Early Espresso, used 2 pieces of the tissue paper that was in the kit and after adhering, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtles Embossing folder. Then I cut a piece of Pool Party and embossed it with the retiring Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I distressed the edges with the Early Espresso ink pad. The ‘Hugs For You’ is from the included stamp set and stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla in Early Espresso and distressed as well. I like distressing because it helps frame things in. In this case it also went with the worn look of the card. If you have been following me for awhile you will notice that I do distress quite frequently. After the stamping, I used the Tailored Tag Punch to cut it out. I then used a strip of burlap ribbon and made a bow from the kit using the Petal Pink twine for the bottom of the tag. The tag was raised with dimensionals. And, of course, 3 pearls were added to give it the final touch.
I am pleased with the card and the ladies loved it when they came for our Paper Pumpkin Club on Saturday. If you are in the Whitefish area, please feel free to join us! We have a grand ol’ time!

Paper Pumpkin April Alternate

Howdy!

Yes, it has been quite awhile since I have been on here and I have missed a few blog hops as well. I am sure you will all agree that life sometimes gets in the way of things we would rather be doing to do the things we need to be doing! I won’t bore you with the details…just know that I haven’t forgotten my commitment to helping you get your creative juices flowing! I just got bogged down for a bit with life matters.

I’m back and staying on track! I figured I should show you my Paper Pumpkin Alternate for our Club’s April kit before May’s Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop goes live tomorrow.

I really, really liked this Distinktive stamp set and so did my ladies!! What an amazing flower! The card I made was inspired from a shirt that I own! It’s a Lularoe shirt and I got a compliment from Dr. Andy about it. All of a sudden, I knew I wanted to use it to make a card with the new kit! How funny is that?

MVIMG_20190527_230432.jpg

So, I did!

1559016368765.jpg

I used a black card base, stamped on Whisper White with Cherry Cobbler and then cut the cardstock into strips. When you lay down the strips, start at the top, then bottom and work your way in. It’s not as easy as one might think. Spacing is tricky.

I fussy cut the leaves after stamping them with Mint Macaron. I also fussy cut the flower. I added a Pearlized Doilie then layered the flower and leaves, added a knot of Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched ribbon to one of the extra tags that I stamped Thank you on. Then, using dimensionals on the back of the tag I laid it on the side of the flower and it was finished.

Simple-ish, yet satisfying. I think it is also kind of striking, if I do say so myself! The ladies at my Paper Pumpkin Club loved it and that is what counts!

Inside, I ‘stamped off’ on my scratch paper which gave the ink a softer hue:

1559016432968.jpg

I also taught them to make envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board! Such an amazing tool!

Envelope Punch Board

We embellished our envelopes with the stamps

And then ran them through the Big Shot with embossing folders! So, even though we only use copy paper to make our envelopes, they are gorgeous and fun and bring joy to our card recipients!

Oh, and yes, I use copy paper for envelopes. What do people do with envelopes? Save them? Why, No. They rip them up and throw them away. Copy paper works perfectly and it’s much cheaper than fancy envelopes. Yes, there are times when I order the special ones, but for day-to-day envelopes, copy paper is my go to paper!

Thank you for hanging in there with me! Also for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

New Creation Studio! WooHoo!

Howdy!

It has been awhile since I have been back at the computer for myself! I have been absorbed in Baseball as league President and it has taken a ton of my time. We even had Opening Day yesterday with snow on the ground. Ugh!

Anyway, I needed to share my pictures of my renewed Creation Studio. I had given you a sneak peek earlier and figure that I should show you how things turned out. I am quite happy with it!

My Hubster and I designed a standing counter and then I got a taller chair for the times when I want to sit. I am really loving how it is easy to get around and everything that I want to use is pretty much right in front of me!

Let me know what you think!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

There is lots and lots of storage, which was another of the main goals with this counter! I love it.

Here is the rest of the studio:

Some things are still tucked away, yet the majority of my scrapbooking and card making items are visible. I need that because otherwise, it’s “out of sight, out of mind” for me. That’s why I like to have as much out and visible as possible.

Well, that is it for today! More to come…have been making things, just hadn’t had time to get it in a post. That is my focus this week…get caught up on my posts!

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June

GSF – The Neutrals

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Howdy!

It’s the first Friday of the month, so that means the amazing Demos of the Global Stamping Friends are having another hop! This month we are showcasing The Neutrals.

What are the Neutrals you ask? The Neutrals are, in order of appearance, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Gray Granite, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, and Soft Suede.

neutrals assorted ink pads

These are some very useful colors and most can be used in combination with any of the other color families that Stampin’ Up! has to offer!

The stamp set I used is Geared Up Garage. Yes! I really do love this stamp set and framelits…A LOT! If you have any doubts, or need other ideas on how to use it, you can check out the other posts here, here, here, and here! 😉 It’s just a perfect set for the guys in my life!

Here is my newest card creation:

1554017473958.jpg

Then on the inside, it looks like this. The top flap of the card was trimmed off a bit so that the smudge and navy line were part of the inside, too.

The materials used for this card are:

Feel free to shop in my store to get your hands on this amazing stamp set and framelit dies HERE or by clicking on the blue words in the list above! Don’t forget the DSP while you are at it! I sure trust this set makes it into the new Annual Catalog! We will find out soon! I’m not ready to stop using it! 😉

That is all I have for you today. I trust you enjoyed another creation from one of my all time favorite Occasions Catalog stamp sets! Now let’s hop on over to Tricia Butts blog and see what she created with The Neutrals!

  • Cardz 4 Guys – #216 Let’s Get Messy
  • The design for this card actually came from a new Challenge site I found…Freshly Made Sketches.

However, since I still have not learned to pay closer attention to closing dates of sketches, I missed out on this one because it closed before this blog post went live. Bummer! I will learn, truly, I will!

ICS – It’s a Spring Thing!!

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o

Howdy!

It’s the 1st Wednesday of the month so it’s time for the Inspire, Create & Share Blog Hop! I love hopping with these lovely ladies!

This blog hop is all about Spring! It’s here according to the calendar…just not according to our actual weather, although the snow is melting.

Since I have 3 Mother-in-Laws (Mom, Step-mom, Father-in-Law’s partner) and 1 mother of my own, I have Mother’s Day on the brain already. So, here is a card I made for one of the Mother-in-Laws…won’t say which one in case they see this. 😉

It started off as a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and a Color Throwdown combination

and turned into this:

I like how it turned out! Soft and pretty, just like the lovely lady who will get this card! I even used some Wink of Stella on the embossed flowers. You can kind of see the sparkle in this photo. Subtle, but effective.

Now you can hop along to Tricia Butts blog and see what she created for her Spring Thing! Enjoy the hopping!

Sketch + Colors = Mom?

Howdy!

Was on a good creative roll this weekend and wanted to get the cards blogged before the challenges run out…seems to happen a bit to me lately!

So, here is the color combo from Fab Friday and the sketch from Sketch Saturday. They were some great inspiration for this card!

And here is my creation using these 2 wonderful inspirations!
1553993309064.jpg
I used Wink of Stella on the wreath and the bow to give it a little more pizzazz…who doesn’t love a little sparkle, right? Here is a closer look…
Over all, I love the bright springy colors on this card! I am sure my Mother-in-Law will too!
