PPP Blog Hop – No Matter the Weather

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy!

It’s time for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! I love hopping with these gals and have missed the last 2 because of subbing and not staying on top of deadlines for hopping. But, I’m back and raring to go!

AND…

This is it! It’s the last night of Sale-A-Bration! If you were wanting something…better go order before midnight MDT! 3 Prepaid months of Paper Pumpkin get you a free item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure! Check it out at juneolsen.stampinup.net

This month’s is called No Matter the Weather and the sentiments are so perfect for helping to calm everyone regarding what is happening on our planet right now. This is an amazing kit! Every time I think they can’t top a month…they do!

Here are the cards the way they were designed…ok, with minor changes not worth mentioning:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I love the cards as they are so much, that I was really struggling with coming up with an alternate! And, as always, for my Paper Pumpkin Club I use only the extras and the stamps. They aren’t so sure they want to cut any cards…so I keep it simple and add some cardstock for a base and only what’s in the box and attempt to use ink colors that I know they will have from previous kits. Some of my members only do Paper Pumpkin.

I was looking through Paper Pumpkin Fan Club and the SU Demonstrator facebook pages to see if I could get inspired…there were some, but still nothing came to mind of my own creation. Then I had a youtube notice on my tablet from a Lisa Curcio as something I might like…and I did! She was teaching how to braid a card and I thought that sounded interesting. I watched, I printed out her template, and away I went! She made it so easy and it looks so cool! Love new techniques!

Here is my creation…

1585698749335.jpg

Oh, and I used another favorite technique…masking. I masked the galoshes so that I could put the grass around them.

While working on this today, we have had grawple, snow, rain, and an earthquake…yep…No Matter the Weather… 🙂

That is it for me tonight! Enjoy your evening as you hop on through with Terri Takashige

PPP Blog Hop – Something for Everything

Howdy Everyone!

Welcome to the delayed December Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop where we share our alternates for the the latest kit. We delayed it due to all the holidays. We are showcasing the December Paper Pumpkin kit and the alternates we created early this month and then will showcase the January one at the end of the month. I love the inspiration that I get from these talented ladies! Join us for a fun hop with tons of ideas to turn your Paper Pumpkin kit into more than you thought possible!

I was excited to get my December kit…Something for Everything with 13 sentiments! That is amazing! All sorts of possibilities! I started off by creating the original cards designed for the kit. I typically make 1 of each to show at my Paper Pumpkin “Taste Testing” workshop where participants can come and make 3 cards and see if they like Paper Pumpkin. It’s a fun time!

I always make 1 of each of the designed cards. Here they are…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This was an awesome kit that needed very little extras added. All I did was add some extra cardstock in Shaded Spruce, Grapefruit Grove, Old Olive, and Terracotta Tile for card bases and backdrops.

I made 6 alternates and they will be featured this week in 2 posts. Here 3 of them and the first is my favorite alternate. It will be the alternate that my Paper Pumpkin Clubbers make. It’s my first easel style card. I needed to use only the extras from the kit and the ‘skeletons’ because I have a number of Clubbers that make all the cards as is before we see each other to make alternates. That is how excited they are for getting their kits!

1578349580163.jpg

Besides adding the cardstock I also used the leaf punch to punch out a gold leaf that I cut to place 1 leaf below and 2 above. I also used the dog punch to cut the gold hearts out of the rest of the sticker page. Gotta love the ‘leftovers’ we can do so much with!!

And these are 2 other cards that I came up with…

I did end up punching out some leaves and sprigs from the back of the card that I stole the front from. Those 2 punches come in very handy quite often!!

Now on to Terri Takashige’s Blog to see what fantastic alternate she came up with! Enjoy!

Paper Pumpkin + SU! = Great Alternate

Oh My Goodness! I was planning a few posts of my Christmas card classes and getting next month’s Blog Hops set up when I found a drafted post…can you believe it? Well, you probably can! 🙂 This is from October and I didn’t even realize that I didn’t finish it and post it! Shame on me…not the first time, as you know, so probably not the last time either! LOL

Although it isn’t Christmas themed, as most things are right now…I’m letting you have it anyway because I love anything Paper Pumpkin…Enjoy! And Have a Very Merry Christmas!!, just in case I don’t get to post before then! 😉

Howdy!

Are you an Out-of-the Box kind of crafter? Do you like mixing and matching your crafting supplies? I’m learning to! And I did just that with this card! I mixed up 2 Paper Pumpkin kits, plus the Sailing Home Bundle items…let’s check out what I did! A card on page 144 of the Annual Catalog inspired me. Can you figure out which one? Comment below if you know!

First, I took the sand dollar, starfish, and the vellum coral (which I inked with Terracotta Tile) from the June PP kit called A Little Smile. Then I used the shell stamp, sentiment, label, sequins, and linen thread from the July PP kit called On My Mind. To those items I added the anchor stamp and and it’s matching die using Smokey Slate cardstock, as well as the sea weed from the Sailing Home Bundle in Mint Macaron and Old Olive. I also included the a sprig punch element in Pear Pizzazz. I have never mixed so many sets in my life! LOL

I used the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set and the stitched label die that comes in the bundle and created that on Whisper White cardstock. I also ran the Pretty Peacock cardstock through the Big Shot in the High Seas 3D embossing folder. I used linen thread for the anchor, but would have used the braided linen trim if I had it! I think it would have been a better look. Then I put it all together and viola!

1564677648276.jpg

What do you think? I think I am in love! A great card for anyone, yet if you struggle with masculine cards, this one is perfect!

PPP Blog Hop – Winter Gifts

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy, Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! I wish you all much fun with your family time! If you are taking a break from the family…I trust you enjoy this little hop through some creative projects with the ladies of the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop. This month’s kit was a coordination with last month’s kit. They were both absolutely gorgeous!!

I am making most of last month’s cards as is, and many of the tags from this kit as well! They are just too beautiful not to!

Image result for paper pumpkin winter gifts

That being said…I thought they would all make a lovely Winter decoration for my house, so I created a Sampler type project. I had this frame from Adorn It, that I bought when I lived in Tucson, over 5 years ago! It was definitely time to use it!!

1574803009808.jpg

I painted it white…

IMG_20191125_154251_01~2.jpg

Then added some background papers for the tags…keeping in mind storing it in a plastic bag safely to reuse each year!

Here is how it turned out

1574819117790.jpg

What do you think?? I’m loving it!! Although, I feel like something is missing…so I will give it a day or two and see if I make any additions. It’s my first “Sampler,” but probably not my last!

Ok, time to hop on over to my dear friend Darla Roberts and see her fantastic creation!

July PPP Blog Hop – On My Mind

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy!

It’s time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop with our July kits…On My Mind! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and this blog hop is to share our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. I love hopping with these amazingly creative ladies! So, let’s get started…

I went camping and took my box along with me. The only “extras” I brought were different sized blocks, the larger ink pad, and some scissors. Everything else was in the box! Therefore, my alternates had to be made with what was in the box!

Here are the original PP designed cards…1564356000023.jpg

And here are 2 of my alternates…I do like to do things wonky sometimes. 🙂

1564356048480.jpg

1564356024483.jpg

I have 2 others that are not quite finished that I will post later. Due to so many family members visiting right now, my Creation Studio is currently being used as a guest room. When I get them finished, I’ll post those as well.

For now, that’s it…time for me to get back to the family fun! Please click the Next button and hop on over to Terry Takashige to see what fun she had with her July kit!

Catch the Bug Photo Inspiration

Howdy!

Doing something a little different today…I am using a digi stamp from Catch the Bug Challenge Blog! It’s a darling stamp and I was in the mood for a change of pace. I’m not much of a colorer, so it was time to challenge myself.

The challenge is from a photo…I used some of the colors, something flying, and flowers! Here’s the photo…

I had gotten a digi stamp from them quite awhile ago, and it made me think of summer, since that is when we can plant flowers up here in Montana. Heck, with all the rain and cool weather, I have not even done a potting of flowers yet!

Here’s the cool digi stamp

Isn’t it so fun? I printed it on Whisper White cardstock and used my Stampin’ Blends and some Stampin’ Write Markers to color it. I happened to have all the perfect colors out of the few that I own! This was meant to be! I really like how the coloring turned out! What do you think?

That is all I have for you tonight! Stay tuned…tomorrow is another fun hop! See you there!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop A Little Smile

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o

Howdy!

It is that time again…Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop…where we get to show you the alternates we made from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit! And this month’s kit is truly Ah-mazing!

It is called A Little Smile for a reason…we can hand out the sweetest cards for any occasion…with tips at a restaurant, when you see a sales person stressed out, a friend needing a pick me up…whenever it seems like the right time to brighten someone else’s day! Trust me, it brings a smile to your face as well!

1561487125191.jpg

AND, it came with this little case to carry the cards in so that they don’t get destroyed in your purse!

1561487471516.jpg

So, that is what came in the kit, I used the stamps, ink, and embellishments to decorate one of Stampin’ Up!’s mini pizza boxes. I hadn’t used any of them yet and wanted to make something 3D for a change of pace. With it being summer, the beachy theme was perfect for a little treat box! I added some other ink colors to this as well…it needed a pop of color for those coral and starfish stamps! 🙂

1561486163040.jpg

The sparkly sand dollar is my favorite embellishment in this kit! There are also some sparkly starfish that are pretty, but if they were in a more realistic color, then they would have also been a favorite. Still using them, of course, just loving the sand dollars the most!

I also decorated the sides of the box because, well, why not?! Love the Calypso Coral for the coral! WOW, such a perfect pop of color! I also used the Sahara Sand for the sand dollars, but stamped them off before putting them on the box! That helped make them lighter and closer to realistic. Don’t ask me why I was hung up on realistic with this kit…it’s just one of my idiosyncrasies, I guess. 😛

1561486241663.jpg

I have to say, I am pretty pleased with the outcome and may have to make a few more of these boxes. Then I need to bake and put treats in them…hahaha, just kidding, chocolate will be way easier since baking is not a favorite past time of mine…cooking, yes, baking, not really. I’ll let my son do the baking. 😉

Below are the supplies I used and the link to my online store. Plus info on next month’s Paper Pumpkin kit…another one you Don’t want to miss!!

Next up is Darla Roberts, my friend and SU leader! Enjoy her creation and the rest of the hop!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop Hugs from Shelli

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_o
Howdy Folks!
Guess what time it is?! Blog Hop time with the fabulous ladies of the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities group! We are bringing you Paper Pumpkin Alternates for May’s kit called Hugs from Shelli. Shelli is the Founder of Stampin’ Up! and she helped design this month’s kit. I loved the original cards so much that my alternate uses ink colors, stamps, and some twine from the kit, but I did not alter any of the items from the kit.
I used this card for my Paper Pumpkin Club, which is where my subscribers and I get together once a month and make our kits and I share an alternate project and all the supplies for that project with them. They have asked that I only use the extras from the kit because they like to make the cards from the kit as is…so, that is what I do.
This month, I was inspired by the flowers and soft colors and this is what I came up with:

1559016208158.jpg

I started with a base of Early Espresso, used 2 pieces of the tissue paper that was in the kit and after adhering, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtles Embossing folder. Then I cut a piece of Pool Party and embossed it with the retiring Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I distressed the edges with the Early Espresso ink pad. The ‘Hugs For You’ is from the included stamp set and stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla in Early Espresso and distressed as well. I like distressing because it helps frame things in. In this case it also went with the worn look of the card. If you have been following me for awhile you will notice that I do distress quite frequently. After the stamping, I used the Tailored Tag Punch to cut it out. I then used a strip of burlap ribbon and made a bow from the kit using the Petal Pink twine for the bottom of the tag. The tag was raised with dimensionals. And, of course, 3 pearls were added to give it the final touch.
I am pleased with the card and the ladies loved it when they came for our Paper Pumpkin Club on Saturday. If you are in the Whitefish area, please feel free to join us! We have a grand ol’ time!

Paper Pumpkin April Alternate

Howdy!

Yes, it has been quite awhile since I have been on here and I have missed a few blog hops as well. I am sure you will all agree that life sometimes gets in the way of things we would rather be doing to do the things we need to be doing! I won’t bore you with the details…just know that I haven’t forgotten my commitment to helping you get your creative juices flowing! I just got bogged down for a bit with life matters.

I’m back and staying on track! I figured I should show you my Paper Pumpkin Alternate for our Club’s April kit before May’s Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop goes live tomorrow.

I really, really liked this Distinktive stamp set and so did my ladies!! What an amazing flower! The card I made was inspired from a shirt that I own! It’s a Lularoe shirt and I got a compliment from Dr. Andy about it. All of a sudden, I knew I wanted to use it to make a card with the new kit! How funny is that?

MVIMG_20190527_230432.jpg

So, I did!

1559016368765.jpg

I used a black card base, stamped on Whisper White with Cherry Cobbler and then cut the cardstock into strips. When you lay down the strips, start at the top, then bottom and work your way in. It’s not as easy as one might think. Spacing is tricky.

I fussy cut the leaves after stamping them with Mint Macaron. I also fussy cut the flower. I added a Pearlized Doilie then layered the flower and leaves, added a knot of Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched ribbon to one of the extra tags that I stamped Thank you on. Then, using dimensionals on the back of the tag I laid it on the side of the flower and it was finished.

Simple-ish, yet satisfying. I think it is also kind of striking, if I do say so myself! The ladies at my Paper Pumpkin Club loved it and that is what counts!

Inside, I ‘stamped off’ on my scratch paper which gave the ink a softer hue:

1559016432968.jpg

I also taught them to make envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board! Such an amazing tool!

Envelope Punch Board

We embellished our envelopes with the stamps

And then ran them through the Big Shot with embossing folders! So, even though we only use copy paper to make our envelopes, they are gorgeous and fun and bring joy to our card recipients!

Oh, and yes, I use copy paper for envelopes. What do people do with envelopes? Save them? Why, No. They rip them up and throw them away. Copy paper works perfectly and it’s much cheaper than fancy envelopes. Yes, there are times when I order the special ones, but for day-to-day envelopes, copy paper is my go to paper!

Thank you for hanging in there with me! Also for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June
