Howdy!

It’s time for the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop! It’s always fun to see what these talented ladies are up to! This month we are showcasing the new Bundles in the Annual Catalog. I really like how Stampin’ Up! has organized them and put them up front to find right away! Have you seen that?! Just love it!

Let’s get started! I chose the Daisy Lane Bundle to showcase this month. I paired it with a few other parts of different stamp sets since I mainly used the daisy stamps and the daisy punches to create this Birthday Pop Up box card for a class that a customer requested for her and a couple friends. She neglected to tell me they were newbies and had never crafted, not even made a card before. Wowza! What a project to introduce them to card making! 😮

I love how fresh and bright it turned out! This is my 3rd pop-up box card and I think there will be many more!

GSF – Trees and Wood

Howdy!

It is that fun time again where I get to hop with the lovely ladies of the Global Stamping Friends…Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world! Let’s get started!

This month our theme was Trees and Wood. I was sad to discover that all my wood and trees stamp sets had retired and I forgot to order the new one that I have been drooling over. (I just ordered it, so you’ll see a post on it soon! 😉 ) Therefore, I turned to one of my favorite, although confusing, embossing folders…Woodland. The trees seem to be able to go either way and I get so confused at times. Yes, it is still one of my favorites! It worked, I’m going with it. 😉

Here it is…

I stamped my scene right onto the embossing folder and then ran it through my Big Shot. I just love this technique and have been wanting to try out this lighthouse scene for some time. Today was the perfect day for it!

Howdy!

It’s time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop with our July kits…On My Mind! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and this blog hop is to share our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. I love hopping with these amazingly creative ladies! So, let’s get started…

I went camping and took my box along with me. The only “extras” I brought were different sized blocks, the larger ink pad, and some scissors. Everything else was in the box! Therefore, my alternates had to be made with what was in the box!

I have 2 others that are not quite finished that I will post later. Due to so many family members visiting right now, my Creation Studio is currently being used as a guest room. When I get them finished, I’ll post those as well.

Howdy!

Have you ever gotten sidetracked and forgotten to send Thank Yous to people you know you really should have? Yes, me too! Even as a card maker, I sometimes don’t get the cards out that I should! Well, today I got super motivated to make the Thank You cards for the baseball sponsors…yeah, I know…baseball regular season ended a month ago! Shame on me! I have had the sponsor team pictures sitting in my Creation Studio for awhile, then I bought the frames, then just needed to make the cards…and then got sidetracked with life.

I am taking responsibility for my tardiness, though…and made my first Belated Thank You cards! I used the team colors for each card and a simple sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

This one was great for using some of my old baseball stamps…yeah, sorry, these stamps are long since retired…they are from before clear and photopolymer stamps were evenaround and are still on wood! They are Stampin’ Up! though!

Here are my cards…

I used Aqua Painters to make the swishy water color bottoms of the cards. I like the subtleness of it! I used the two main colors of the teams for the thanks and the swish. Gray is obviously a common color theme for our teams. They all wear gray pants. I like the colorful words vs the words being in gray and the swish being in color.

I know…lots of white for this girl! And no distressing the edges…Wait! What? Yes, no distressing! I like them! What do you think? Feel free to leave me a comment about them! I love comments!

GSF In Colours – 2018-2020 & 2019-2021

Howdy!

It is time for another fun hop around the world with the talented ladies of the Global Stamping Friends! This month we are showcasing In Colors! Either the new 2019-2021 or the 2018-2020. Let’s get this hop started (if I am where you are starting) or keep you going if you just came from Anastasia Radloff.

I needed some inspiration and Sketch Saturday is one of my go-to places for that! Here is the sketch I used for today’s card.

And for color combination, I went to another favorite challenge blog of mine, Color Throwdown. They have these fantastic colors to play with this week!

Aren’t those yummy colors?! Made me want some watermelon! Luckily, there is some in the fridge! 😉 I used the Call Me Clover and Lovely Lipstick from the 2018-2020 In Colors along with Whisper White and Basic Black. The stamp set is Love You to Pieces. First time I am using it…won’t be the last time, though! So cute!

Catch the Bug Photo Inspiration

Howdy!

Doing something a little different today…I am using a digi stamp from Catch the Bug Challenge Blog! It’s a darling stamp and I was in the mood for a change of pace. I’m not much of a colorer, so it was time to challenge myself.

The challenge is from a photo…I used some of the colors, something flying, and flowers! Here’s the photo…

I had gotten a digi stamp from them quite awhile ago, and it made me think of summer, since that is when we can plant flowers up here in Montana. Heck, with all the rain and cool weather, I have not even done a potting of flowers yet!

Isn’t it so fun? I printed it on Whisper White cardstock and used my Stampin’ Blends and some Stampin’ Write Markers to color it. I happened to have all the perfect colors out of the few that I own! This was meant to be! I really like how the coloring turned out! What do you think?

ICS Blog Hop – Punch Me Out

Howdy!

It’s that time again…our monthly Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop! I love seeing what these talented ladies create! This month we are showcasing Punches. There are so many punches in the catalog, my goodness it makes it hard to choose a favorite…so maybe a mix of a couple are the way to go? I guess we will see as we hop through…have fun seeing some inspiring creations!

I did end up using 3 punches…too hard to choose just one! I used the Scalloped Tag Topper, Banner Triple, and the Cat. The Stamp set is Nine Lives. I made this card with a particular “Crazy Cat Lady” friend of mine in mind…at least that is what my son called her when he was little since she (and her husband) had 7 cats at the time. He is a cat lover as well, so they bonded quickly.

For some reason the color is off in my picture, although it isn’t as blue as the first one I took. And the sentiment looks blurry. It’s actually stamped so that it had a shadow, but the picture doesn’t do it justice. My colors are Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. Plus, I used vellum for the tag. My supply list will be listed below.

I think the inside of the card turned out super cute! Since it says “…nine lives” I had to have nine cats, right?

Gotcha! You forgot to count the 2 on the front, huh? You thought I couldn’t count, didn’t you! 🙂

Balloons for You!

Howdy!

My Boyz (husband and son) are playing on the computers with long distance friends, so I am playing in my Creation Studio! Fun kind of evening for us! I sorta miss them though…we used to do this all in the same room until we changed the Guest Room into the Computer Cave so that I had a whole room for classes. I love the room to myself most of the time and especially for holding classes…but then on evenings like this, I miss hearing their funny conversations and laughter. I could probably have the door open and hear them, but since I am listening to KLove, I figured I would leave it closed. It’s a Catch-22.

I found some fun Challenges to get my creative juices flowing…

Probably coulda found a sketch and made it a triple…but, that might be going too far. LOL

I’m satisfied with the card I came up with. I had a particular person in mind for this one. I missed sending him a birthday card and a Father’s Day card…ugh, pathetic, I know! So, this one will be in tomorrow’s mail to my One and Only, Best Daddy! (Mom, if you are reading this, don’t tell him!)

Howdy!

It is that time again…Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop…where we get to show you the alternates we made from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit! And this month’s kit is truly Ah-mazing!

It is called A Little Smile for a reason…we can hand out the sweetest cards for any occasion…with tips at a restaurant, when you see a sales person stressed out, a friend needing a pick me up…whenever it seems like the right time to brighten someone else’s day! Trust me, it brings a smile to your face as well!

AND, it came with this little case to carry the cards in so that they don’t get destroyed in your purse!

So, that is what came in the kit, I used the stamps, ink, and embellishments to decorate one of Stampin’ Up!’s mini pizza boxes. I hadn’t used any of them yet and wanted to make something 3D for a change of pace. With it being summer, the beachy theme was perfect for a little treat box! I added some other ink colors to this as well…it needed a pop of color for those coral and starfish stamps! 🙂

The sparkly sand dollar is my favorite embellishment in this kit! There are also some sparkly starfish that are pretty, but if they were in a more realistic color, then they would have also been a favorite. Still using them, of course, just loving the sand dollars the most!

I also decorated the sides of the box because, well, why not?! Love the Calypso Coral for the coral! WOW, such a perfect pop of color! I also used the Sahara Sand for the sand dollars, but stamped them off before putting them on the box! That helped make them lighter and closer to realistic. Don’t ask me why I was hung up on realistic with this kit…it’s just one of my idiosyncrasies, I guess. 😛

I have to say, I am pretty pleased with the outcome and may have to make a few more of these boxes. Then I need to bake and put treats in them…hahaha, just kidding, chocolate will be way easier since baking is not a favorite past time of mine…cooking, yes, baking, not really. I’ll let my son do the baking. 😉

Around the Corner w/ Tropical Chic

Howdy, Everyone!

Wow! It’s summer vacation! Yay! However, this is not my usual kind of summer because I got a new teaching job! I started teaching English to Chinese children online. It is lots of fun! I think of it as being a host of my own children’s show! It is really boosting the creative side of my brain! Which means you’ll probably be seeing more posts on here…not a bad thing, right?! That’s the best kind of summer!

I whipped this card up faster than I think I have ever done! Creative juices have been flowing! Love these fun bright colors!

Fusion was the inspiration for the colors…

And here is my card…I did a combination of the colors from the VW and the sketch.

Around the Corner w/ Tropical Chic

I started with a card base in Daffodil Delight. Created a Whisper White rectangle with the Stitched dies. The stamp set is Tropical Chic with the matching dies for my main focal images. The flowers are in Mango Melody and Melon Mambo while the leaves are in Bermuda Bay.

Then I used the ‘Hello There’ sentiment from the Around the Corner stamp set. I think this might be the first time using both of these sets. Glad they carried over into the new Annual catalog!

I’m truly loving the feeling these bright summer colors give me!! We’re still waiting on summer weather here in Montana! Lots of rain and cool days. Definitely not like in Arizona, where it’s triple digits! Don’t really miss that, just would like some days warmer than 50-60s! 😁
