Hello Out There!
I just realized I forgot to show you card #4 form the Holiday card swap I had done. Jeepers, I really need to get myself organized and consistent!
This one was a fun one! I was again using the Still Night stamp set and thinlits. However, I needed to come up with the Big Shot focal piece. Of course, all my other cards already did that and I was almost freaked out thinking that I had used all possibilities up. Alas, I finally remembered that one of the main ideas I had had before they all blanked out on me was to do a snowy owl. So, here is my snowy owl!
I kept it simple. I used the Whisper White cardstock as a base and distressed it with Pacific Point, which was also my 2nd layer. I also corner rounded it to soften it a bit. The branch is cut from Early Espresso card stock using the thinlits and my Big Shot. I embossed the Pacific Point using the Softly Falling embossing folder (one of my faves!) and had also cut out a few of the snowflakes. I used the clear rhinestones in the center of the larger snowflakes. I also used sheer ribbon across the bottom to keep the branch from just “floating” in the sky. It seemed to ground it.
Of course, after making all these cards using this set…I found ideas on Pinterest that turned the branch sideways. That is something I still will do and see how I like it. For now, I am pleased with my cards and I am pleased with all the other cards I got in return! I am well on my way to having cards stocked up by doing these swaps and making my own cards.
Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along!
Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share with me!
Blessings, June
