Global Stamping Friends – Seasonal Fun

21230900_10155476021810479_6509381660004074956_n

Hello, Hello!

It’s that time again…First Friday of the month…hopping with my Global Stamping Friends! These are some amazing ladies who make some amazing projects so enjoy the hopping! This month’s theme is Seasonal Fun…so let’s have some fun and I will show you what I created!

I am all about snow right now! I live in Whitefish, Montana and we are supposed to have a lot more snow than we do right now!! Our ski mountain has been making snow to open yesterday. That is so sad! I figure if I keep making cards with winter scenes and lots of snow maybe we will keep getting snow! As a snowmobile rider, I want a lot more snow! I decided to “capture” some snow in a shaker card!

Here is my creation:

1544079113131.jpg

I love purple! So using Gorgeous Grape is a joy! So happy for this new color from Stampin’ Up!! I kept this card simple using the Gorgeous Grape and Whisper White cardstock with a little bit of Tuxedo Black ink. The bow was inked with Gorgeous Grape and stamped off 2 times on other paper before using it on this card. I also used the framelits to make the snowflakes and used silver and lighter colors from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.

I used the Jars of Love stamp set

Jar Of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set

and Everyday Jars Framelit

Everyday Jars Framelits Dies

I used my Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder on the Gorgeous Grape layer after I used the stardust stamp from the Christmas Pines stamp set to give it a background pattern. Also from that set are the front sentiment, punch out with the Everyday Label punch and the holly, which I used Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the leaves and berries and then fussy cut them out. The inside sentiment is from Beautiful Baubles. The inside snowflakes are from the Colorful Seasons stamp set which was inked 1 time and stamped 3 times. Yep, my favorite technique! And I used 3 Pearl White sequin from the Adhesive Backed Sequin set.

I am so proud of myself for mixing up my stamp sets…I used to only use what it came with it instead of incorporating others. I am Out-of-the-Box now!! YAY! Finally!

Thank you for hopping with me, now it’s time to enjoy what Jenn made for your delight!16142532_1545314942146166_6627757169686037005_n

ICS Blog Hop – Beautiful Baubles

32665355_10216915228977740_1820335104300417024_o

Hello, Hello!

It’s time for another Blog Hop with a new group that I joined called Inspire, Create, Share, or ICS for short! It’s a monthly Blog Hop and I am excited to be playing along with these very talented ladies! This month’s theme is Christmas Cards Galore. WooHoo! Let’s get started!

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite stamp sets and matching framelits: Beautiful Baubles! I drooled over this for awhile and then finally told myself to just order it! I am so glad I did!

I made a card with it for another Blog Hop…check that out here. Now I have come up with 2 other cards. The first I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from a card I got in a swap I did with Holiday Catalog products from a demonstrator named Jacqueline Schulz. I liked how she had offset the ornament.

1543975035349.jpg

Hers was copper and brown tones, I used the Gold Glimmer paper for the ornament and ran it through the Big Shot using the Precision plate because it is such a detailed framelit. I topped it off with some Black Shimmer Ribbon tied in a knot with the ends trimmed up. A piece of All Is Bright DSP (Designer Series Paper) is my patterned paper. I liked the greenery. Cherry Cobbler cardstock as my middle layer and Very Vanilla as my card base. I distressed the Very Vanilla with Shaded Spruce ink and a sponge. I also used Cherry Cobbler behind my ‘THE’ and Shaded Spruce cardstock behind my ‘deck’ and ‘halls.’ I used basic rhinestones and discovered that I don’t need to use a sharpie to color them (Thank you, Connie Stewart!)…I can use my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends markers instead! Yay! Perfect color matching, which is one of the things I love most about Stampin’ Up products!! I stamped the sentiment outside and inside using Momento Tuxedo Black.

For the inside I used the bough from my Nature Sings stamp set to decorate the corner. I stamped in Shaded Spruce and stamped off 3 times to make it get lighter and lighter. Looks like 3 different shades, but it is just 1 inking of the stamp and then stamping it 3 times. One of my favorite techniques. Then I used the curved stamp to make it look like a heart from the Christmas Pines stamp set.

My next card was more simplistic:

1543975073143.jpg

I used Old Olive cardstock for my base, a small piece of DSP from the Under the Mistletoe packet. I used Real Red ink to stamp the stars and distress the edges of the card. I trimmed off a small portion of the top of the card to allow the DSP to show and used a square Stitched Framelit to cut out the square. Then I stamped the Whisper White square with the ornaments in Momento Tuxedo Black. I stamped that 3 more times in Tuxedo Black, Real Red, and Old olive and then ran them through the Big Shot. I colored some ornaments on the black stamped images. Then I used dimensionals to place the colored ornaments over the plain black ones on the square. It gives them pop and color!

1543974968428.jpg As you can see, I also used Real Red cardstock on the inside to give it more of a festive feel. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black. I love these Stitched framelits and how they give a little border!

Well, I think that is it for me. Thank you for joining us, you can now see what Ginger has in store for you! Click on the next button!32855853_10216915229217746_6139564322663170048_o

Snowflakes Abound!

Hello, Hello!

It’s that time of year when I start thinking about snow! We live in Whitefish, Montana and when you live here you have to pick a winter hobby…besides staying inside crafting all the time, which would suite me, but not my guys! 😉

We chose snowmobiling! And this year we are all set with avalanche gear (of which I trust we NEVER have to use!) Now we wait for snow! It’s late this year, see my bare backyard?! I thought maybe if I start making snowy cards, it would start snowing…you think?

MVIMG_20181123_151703

And, since the…

10.01.18_SHAREABLE_Q4_OUT_OF_PUB_ENG

promotion is still going on until November 30th…I figured now was as good a time as any to play with snowflakes! In my last post, I was playing with the Happiness Surrounds stamp set that is quite versatile…it’s not just for Christmas, which is why I bought it!

For this new card I used the snowflake thinlits dies to make all my snowflakes with Whisper White cardstock.

Snowfall Thinlits Dies

Then I brought out an old stamp set, that I haven’t even used yet (I got it when we moved and had no time to play with it) called Santa Stache! It is so darned cute! I plan on using this one for a couple cards this year. My hubster has a ‘stache almost like this and the beard to go with it!

MVIMG_20181126_164020

Oh, and before I get into details about the card…EVERYTHING I used, except the stamp set, Big Shot, and snowflakes IS ON SALE 10% OFF UNTIL MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY 11/28. Click on the blue words and they will take you to my store. The snowflakes will not be sold after the 30th (Friday) of November. Don’t hesitate if you like what you see!

Together with Shaded Spruce cardstock for a base, Cherry Cobbler ink for the inside sentiment and distressing, Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends for coloring the hat, Dashing Along DSP for the triangle swatch of paper, and Whisper White cardstock for the rest, this is the card that I came up with:

1543273699738

First I ran the thinlits through the Big Shot using the Precision Base plate, which is really really good for detailed dies like the snowflakes! Then I just dropped the snowflakes on the card to see what would look good. Once I made up my mind on the flow of the flakes, I had to glue them…I used the Tombo Liquid Glue and my silicone mat. Later I remembered that I have the Fine-Tip glue pen and would have made less mess had I used it! *sigh*

Then I stamped the Santa in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut using snips. I had already run the mustache through the Big Shot when I did the snowflakes. Why they didn’t do a framelit for the heads of this set when they did the mustache, I have no idea. At least it was not too detailed, so it was easy to fussy cut.

Usually I leave a small white border when I cut images out, just like the thinlits do, but this time I wanted the black edge. If I goof and don’t get all the white off or cut a little on the inside, then I use my Stampin’ Write black marker to “fix/hide” my errors.

I used dimensionals on the Santa and the sentiment to raise it up off the snowflakes. Also on the ‘stache to raise it off the face. I used a swatch of the Dashing Along DSP just to give it a pop of color. The sentiment on the outside and inside layer are distressed in Cherry Cobbler ink using my trusty sponge quarter. I also used the other sentiment from the set for the inside and it is stamped in the Cherry Cobbler. Love that deep red! Then I took the leaf stamp from the Happiness Surrounds stamp set and, using my Shaded Spruce ink pad, I stamped it 3 times without reinking. That’s a favorite technique of mine! Then I put adhesive on the back of the cardstock and stuck it inside the card.

1543273665430

So, one last time. Here is my card. What do you think? Cute, huh? Love the 2 sentiments using “stache!” If you don’t believe me about my hubster, you can check out his ‘stache and beard in this previous post Here.

Hello – Hello!

Time for another Blog Hop with my Global Stamping Friends! I love hopping with these talented demonstrators! This month’s theme is…can you guess from my title? Circles!! Let’s have some fun!

I saw this paper in my new All Is Bright DSP pack that I got last week and thought, “Oooh, elegant!” Plus, I have been drooling over the Beautiful Baubles stamp set and Detailed Baubles Thinlits ever since I saw it in the Holiday Catalog!! It is so gorgeous that I finally just had to order it! It just seemed so right to put the 2 together when they both came in the same box! WooHoo!

MVIMG_20181031_202401  Beautiful Baubles Photopolymer Bundle

At first I was going to use black and white to keep the feel of elegance, but after making a card using a white base…it just fell flat. I won’t bore you with that card…

My hubster actually encouraged me to use the Basic Black cardstock base and give it another whirl…and Oh My Gosh! I think it came out lovely!! And elegant!! Which is what I wanted in the first place!

Want to see it? Here it is:

1541046872687

I am pleased with how it turned out! You can even see the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush in the light that is on the “wreath” around the ornaments! That was a lucky picture! I also added the Wink of Stella to the Whisper White sentiment circle, but you can’t see it in this picture. The ribbon already had sparkle in it…probably why they named it Shimmer Ribbon! 😉

What do you think? Did I hit the “elegant” mark on the nose, or what!? It definitely turned out better than the first one or the Turkey I was considering making, but thought I needed ovals for the feathers instead of circles…who knows, maybe I will still make one. It is November after all! LOL If you want instructions on how to make this card, just leave a comment below and I will get them emailed to you. Thanks!

Easy-Peasy Christmas Cards!

09.06.18_PP_24_SHAREABLE_NEW

Hello, Hello!

If you have seen my posts before, you know I am a huge fan of Paper Pumpkin from Stampin’ Up! In case you are new and have not heard of Paper Pumpkin…or heck, in case you have seen me mention it, but didn’t ask what it was…let me tell you about this amazing monthly kit! The joyful mail I get each month!

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly kit from Stampin’ Up! that comes right to your mailbox. All the hard work of designing the cards and cutting out the cardstock and diecuts is already done for you! All you have to do is put it together! Inside is everything you need to make a minimum of 8 cards. Sometimes you get little crafts that are 3D items like treat baggies or tubes for Halloween, or stockings and bunnies for Christmas and Easter. The crafts vary depending on the Holiday coming up. Mostly, it is amazing cards that are simple and easy to make. There are instructions to follow for each type of card, usually 2 designs and you make 4 of each design. Then there are leftovers that you can use to make more cards. Envelopes for the cards are always included, as are the stamp set and ink that you need. There are embellishments and adhesive as well! In your first box, they even send you a clear block to use each month for stamping!

Here are some examples from past kits. Current Paper Pumpkin subscribers have the opportunity to purchase past kits.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So, there you have it! Paper Pumpkin is a fun box you get in the mail each month and you get to make all kinds of cards and crafts! And, it’s only $19.95! You can’t buy 8 cards for that! You’d get maybe 3, if you’re lucky! Your family and friends will LOVE your handmade cards! Trust me! Mine do and yours will too!

This next box is decorated for Christmas, so there will be Christmas themed items in it and that can help you get your holidays started. What better way to say, “I love you and am thinking of you” than with a handmade card at Christmas time?!

I will be posting more Paper Pumpkin projects in the future. I tend make 1 of each of what the instructions say and then I often veer off and do my own alternate cards and projects. However, I have been known to love their design so much that I just made what came in the kit and used the extras for my alternates. There are always plenty of extra embellishments and you can even mix items from other boxes! If I need a Birthday card, but the current kit says Thank You, I will just go to another kit and get the stamp I want. That’s the beauty of it all! You get to keep the stamps and ink as well as all the leftovers to use as you wish!

Ok, I could keep going on and on, but I won’t.

If you want this box of FUN coming to your mailbox next month, then CLICK HERE to start your subscription now! You need to register before the 10th of November! Don’t wait! DO IT NOW! You won’t regret it!

Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along!

Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share with me!

Blessings, June
