Aloha R&R

Hello, All!

We made an impromptu camping trip to Yellowstone over the weekend and had a blast! It did require some prep time, hence the lack of posts again. School starts tomorrow, so I will have more time for almost a week before I start substituting again. I am already booked 3 days next week. My plan is that any days that I am not subbing, I will be working on Stampin’ Up! as well as scrapbooking and therefore, blogging!

Right now I am not feeling so great, but I really wanted to get this blog post in for this challenge because I have worked on it 3 times! I sat down and worked on it 2 other times and just didn’t get inspired or was just not happy with what was coming together on this page. So this will be quick and straight to the point because earlier, when I sat down to work on this page, it just flowed right out of me and I was feeling pretty confident and happy with the results! 3’s a charm, right?!

This is one of the pages from my Dad’s Life Album. Not everything in it is SU!, but that is ok. I have tons of scrapbooking stuff that I have had long before I even heard about SU!.

The challenge is August Blend-A-Sketch Challenge for Scrap Our Stash. I think this is the first time I have entered something with them since I haven’t really scrapbooked much since leaving Tucson in 2015.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my scrapbook page:

So, I needed to blend these 2 sketches together and use arrows.

I used the diagonal from the left sketch and did some tearing for my left corner and then placed the title on top of the pictures.

I used the stacking of the photos and the journaling box on the side as well as the rest of my title from the sketch on the right.

My arrows go across the top and along the right side of the page.

What do you think? I am pleased with how it turned out!

Enjoy the rest of your evening! I am headed upstairs to lay down and get rid of this nausea. Until next time…

Happy crafting!

Blessings, June

14 Things I Love…

Hello! Happy, happy Friday!!

Here is a mini scrapbook I have been working on for Scrap4Less! I will be doing a class on it February 12th, here in Colorado Springs. You can Sign Up Here. Let me know you saw it here first and I will have a little surprise for you!

1484775654358

This book pulls out and is called a flip book because the pages flip as you pull. It is from Teresa Collins. The heart punch is from Stampin’ Up!, as well as the number stamps. They are actually retired and are called Big Deal Numbers. The letter stickers are from Sn@p. Some of the stickers used inside are from WeRMemoryKeepers. The heart banner is from a Sizzix BigZ. The paper is My Mind’s Eye, if I remember correctly. I really need to learn to write these things down before I cut things up! All these items, that are not SU!, are items sold at Scrap4Less once a month at the 2 day crop. You really should come check it out if you live in, or are visiting, Colorado Springs!

I won’t show the inside pages until after the class…I don’t want to spoil the surprise! There are 14 pages to declare your love for your spouse, child, parent…whoever you love and can describe it in 14 different ways! I made one, in the past for my husband, at a class back in Tucson. I still have it! I think it is in the Valentine’s box. If it is, I will share it with you after I get that container out of storage. It is what inspired me to create this album for a class.

Just a little FYI…because you all know I am a Stampin’ Up! demo and most of this is not SU! The supplies I use are mainly ones that Monique sells at Scrap4Less. Occasionally, I add something from Stampin’Up!, like the heart, however, it is her store and her crop, so I use her materials.

That’s it for today! Need to do more creating, so I have more to post! Staying healthy will be top priority! I trust you are all healthy!

Enjoy your day! Have fun this weekend! I know I will…I will be crafting and watching movies!

Blessings, June

SU! Christmas Pines and Beyond

Hello! Happy Middle of the Week day!

Christmas Pines stamp set and framelits isn’t just for Christmas! It’s for any outdoorsy scrapbook pages as well as cards! I thought this was so perfect! We were out among the trees and I needed embellishments! Pine needles and pine cones…PERFECT!

I used the stamps for one page and and then used the framelits for 3D embellishments! Still kept it simple, but the added greenery really helped make the pages pop! As I look at them now…I could have had more pop with more layers of paper! I was towards the end of the album and ready to have it done, I think. The stamping and framelits did help, though! I have not put this set away with the Christmas sets because there is so much I can do with it!

The red hearts are from the Sweetheart punch by Stampin’ Up! Love my sister and brother-in-law and so it was perfect for their picture with the Grand Teton in the background. The round punches are also from Stampin’ Up! They are the 2 3/8 ” scalloped punch (replaced by thinlits) and the 2″ circle punch.

Are you tired of Yellowstone pictures, yet? I sure trust not. I have one more post to go with my sisters album and then I was going to start my own…maybe I will do some Christmas pages for a bit and then go back to Yellowstone. I did do 3 gift albums of Yellowstone pictures. I could kinda use a break myself.

Enjoy your day!

Card sketch turned scrap page

Hello All!

I trust you all are having a lovely January! I am enjoying mine! I’ve been getting a lot done at home, doing some subbing, crafting, and blogging. I can’t complain, that is for sure!

Here is another challenge that I completed, yes, before end of deadline and never entered. I’m ok with it!

This one is from Sketch Saturday, another of my favorites! I used to do more of their cards before I started blogging. Now I use them for scrapbook pages when it works. This one worked!! A very simple page for a simple and all telling picture! The hemp ribbon is left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit. There are always left overs from the kits and I love to use them on my cards and scrapbook pages! (Psst…they are running a special on Paper Pumpkin right now for Sale-A-Bration, check it out here!)

There you have it! Another page done and posted! Off to more creations!

Enjoy your day!

Book Inspired Scrap Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King, Jr! We have off from school today, so…here is another challenge layout.

This was very different and a first for me! I liked it! It’s from Scrap Our Stash, another challenge blog that I like to participate in. Yes, I had this one done on time and never made it to the computer. Ok, I am still new at all this, so I am cutting myself some slack. There is probably an easier way to do all this, however my steps are as follows: I do the page, I take a picture with my phone, I then use Phonto to put my name on it (which it looks like I missed this one! And maybe all the others, gosh darn it, too late now!), then I have to email it to myself, download it to the computer, and then create the post and blog about it. That is a lot of steps that I would like to figure out how to make easier. If you know…I am all ears!! I probably could just use my phone, but I find that hard because I can’t see everything in one fell swoop like I can on the computer! So, in my defense, I did all these pages for challenges and then with my son home from school, I never made it to the computer. Heck, I didn’t even do the Phonto part until the other day…and apparently have forgotten to download those and have ended up using the regular photos. Sheesh! I will learn this stuff! One day, I will! Newbie, I know!!

Ok, back to this cool challenge! They gave us the book cover of the Grinch and said we had to add striped paper and enamel dots OR sequins. Well, enamel dots it is because sequins for a camping layout just seemed ridiculous! Hahaha!

First I stamped the back ground using the Glamper Greetings camper (still available!). Found some striped paper that added some color and looked outdoorsy. Then the enamel dots that color coordinated with the papers. The friend from the same crop that the trees came from also had this awesome grass die-cut…so I borrowed it and made tons of grass in many different shades of green! You’ll see in other posts that I used it a number of times! Plus, I still have some left over for my own Yellowstone album! Sweet!

This was fun and such a cool idea! many folks went with Christmas, so I thought I did pretty good with a camping/glamping theme! What do you think??

Enjoy your day!

Blessings, June

Out of the Box! SU!

Hello and Happy Saturday!

Crafting weekend for you, too?! I’m scrappin’ all day today at a Scrap4Less crop and we’ll see what happens on Sunday! Hubby will be home, so it might be a movie day!

Here is another sketch challenge that I did over the holidays! This is another sketch from Stuck?! Sketches…a great challenge site! I love working with sketches! Most of the folks who entered this challenge and even the design team used stars. I chose white birch trees as my large back drop! Shh, not an SU! framelit. I was at a crop and a friend of mine showed it to me and it was so perfect for this page, that I used it! That elk was in the trees and it all blends nicely together! I put the Bald Eagle in a circle using the 2″ circle punch from Stampin’ Up!and then backed him up with a couple layers of papers. The tab punch is a retired item from SU!, but one of my favorites, so I use it often. I even have the stamp set that goes with it, which I used to embellish the paper.

Again, working on an 8×8 page to do a 12×12 sketch was a bit of a challenge, yet…it came out pretty good! Don’t you think? I even have a few trees leftover to use in my own album. Sweet!

Alrighty, off to scrappin’ my day away! Then I will have more to post! Cool beans!

Enjoy your day!

Blessings, June

Sketch Challenge

Hello! Happy Friday!!

Here is one of the challenges that inspired my page. I got the challenge from Stuck?! Sketches. I had it done on time…I just never made it to the computer to post it. That is ok. I won’t cry about it!

This was a bit of a challenge on an 8×8 page! The water fall from the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone was a fabulous picture that I wanted to showcase…it just could not be cut down. I like the page. It sorta resembles the sketch. I have seen many a scrapper go out of the box on a sketch, so I figured, “Why not?”

I like it! What about you??

Shhh, no Stampin’ Up! products were used. It just happens sometimes when you have so many scrapbook supplies to use that pre-dates your SU! time frame.

Enjoy your day and upcoming weekend! I’ll be scrappin’ at the Scrap4Less crop all day Saturday! WooHoo! Come join us if you are in Colorado Springs!

Blessings, June
